Everything seemed really badly written except for what came out of Lex's mouth (maybe it's the power of the Rosenbaum here to save us one last time) -- but honestly the Clark and Lex scene seemed to be a cut above everything else.
I just don't understand why Clark and Lois became this soggy mess of wishy-washy feelings this season (when I enjoyed them a great deal in season 9). Or why we have to rehash the letting go / holding on to the past issue at least fifty billion times with Clark. Or why it would take 7 years for two people to get married (i.e. two *sensible* people, so maybe I've answered my own question).
Of course, I could fill an entire journal with a list of what didn't work last night...so at least the Clark and Lex stuff did.
I'll be so disappointed if Nikita isn't renewed! Not only do I think it's a fantastic show in it's own right, there's nothing else like it on television right now.
ETA - I love the show but I wish they'd cast Birkoff with a minority actor, especially since they killed Jaden.
Hey - I haven't even read this post yet because I have yet to watch either show - but it's on deck! The White Collar vid is at the betas and I plan on yours next :-).
I've seen it now - and just one comment - those people in Alex's final scene? Old LFN cast members. I am unreasonably squeeful.
Smallville was ... exceptionally awful. I saw all this happiness on my FList and then I watched it and I was honestly wondering if someone had snuck in and put a joke on my DVR. What the actual fuck? I did like that final "future" Daily Planet sequence, though.
I'm happy you were able to squee! Did you also like "screw you, that's why"? Because I'm still grinning.
SV was acceptable because they gave us iconic Clark/Lex (before taking it away) and because they hit a lot of the big mythical stuff like the glasses and the suit under the suit; I don't care about the latter but I think a lot of people just felt happy that they did make an effort to connect Clark's journey to his destination. But yeah, a lot of wheel-spinning (and then a really awful resolution for Apokalips).
