Had to stop reading to comment. This is the most perfect line. So in character. So exactly how Dee would learn about her period. Brilliant, Rivka. WOW.

I rarely read SPN, but this story owns me. Loving it.

Those kids had a weird childhood, no doubt. Not that learning about menstruation from the 70s classics I read was necessarily that much better!

This was just outstanding. Such a perfect re-imagining of what Seasons 3 and 4 would have been in this scenario, and the end was exactly how I'd hoped Season 4 had ended: Sam and Dean, together against the world knowing what it was going to cost them, not despite it.

I'm still absorbing it, and so more detailed (and, hopefully, more coherent!) feedback once I've re-read it, but I just wanted to let you know that I was utterly blown away. Brava!

I'm dazzled by your rewrite of canon. I made it almost to the end of the novel before thinking, "Wait. She just rewrote the the last couple of years of the series, and I didn't notice." The writing flowed in such a way that I didn't notice Dean didn't go to hell, etc. These narrative shifts seemed natural, your handling of them subtle. Beautiful work, Rivka. I can't imagine knowing canon as thoroughly as you'd need to in order to make this story work as well as it does.

Thank you so much! I decided the major intervention I'd make was to make Dee's greater caution re: physical encounters translate to a different result with Jake, and after that it was a matter of having the other players seek to make things come out the same way regardless.
