I like your Veronica voice very much, though it kills me that she's being so stubborn about Logan. I shall imagine this is the beginning of a longer fic wherein they will finally realize they are perfect for each other at the end.
I would also really like to see Veronica end up partners with your version of Blair Waldorf, after Blair's former partner Faith Lehane inevitably gets called back to Sunnydale for belated slayer duties.
Favorite quote:
If Veronica Mars is ever going to leave Neptune, she has to leave Logan behind, because Logan is Neptune distilled: the arrogance of money, the grace of it as well, the affection that can knife-edge into disdain. But Logan is more than Neptune in one way, even though he doesn’t understand it yet (and sometimes she wonders if he ever will). Logan’s problem isn’t stinginess but overflow, too much love and nowhere to put it.
That's just . . . neat. As always, thanks for sharing your talents.
Thank you! I see the good and the bad in them; I imagine them getting together and breaking apart many times over their lives. Veronica and Blair would be pretty high-voltage--I'm not sure who'd survive.
But yeah, I can see the pretty there, but I don't think the people that they were during the series proper could have made it work. Veronica desperately needs to leave Neptune for a bit, and Logan needs something to replace Veronica as his all-ruling passion.
this is a fantastic voice for Veronica - very recognizable from the series, but with just that touch of having been out in the real world/away from Neptune for a while and trying to figure out exactly what of it to put behind her.
So many fantastic bits I could quote back to you, but one that stood out for me was: Giving a complex machine to a kid who can’t work it is unfair to both of them, which really does work so well for them.
And also this: Logan’s problem isn’t stinginess but overflow which seems such a lovely concise summation of Logan.
