Introduce Yourselves, Pretty Please?

Mar 20, 2003 02:38

I realize that I don't know as many of you all as I thought I did. Someday, perhaps after I grade my exams, I will read everybody's LJ, but for now I'd really love to get to know you better -- in a way that requires less effort on my part. So, how's about it? Also, should I review more books or fewer? What about music and movies? I'm ( Read more... )

Good point. I'll edit the post.

I am seriously Batman-biased. I would have to say Batman. Please don't hurt me.

Oh, I think the Dark Knight would win (absent intervention by Lex, as Chase points out). Clark's pretty and all, but his trusting nature would get the better of him.

Well, hello there! I have to admit, I fear California almost as much as NYC. The Internet is really broadening my horizons.

I mainly fear California's economy and priorities. Everything costs three times as much as it should out here, and the ambience of the place can wear down a girl who's not a size 4/6 (and never will be for that matter) and doesn't like malls. *g* Then again, I'm not likely to be lured back to the Mid-South anytime soon.

You probably know more about me this week than you did last week. *g*

I'm 26, Navajo/Norwegian, I live in Southern California, mother of a child who looks like First-Grader!Spike, aspiring writer, total recluse and connoisseur of panic and pathos (no crowds, no small, closed places, etcetera). If I were out there solving crime, I'd be Monk without the cleanliness fetish.

I wrote X-Files fanfic from 1997 to 2000 and I'm engaged to marry a fellow former XF fanfic writer (who isn't nearly so alliterative as his description would suggest). So of course I remember you from that era. I haven't been up on TV happenings lately (I'm a junkie for Law & Order), so wouldn't know SV or B:tVS fanfic from my left elbow. I love the reviews -- all the reviews! You've got me anxious to read Jennifer Government from your past review of it.

I would love to see movie reviews from you, rivka. 'Cause sadly, I see more movies than read new books anymore. The curse of majoring in 19th Century Lit, I s'pose.

In your scenario, is Superman backed up by his buddy Lex? That would affect my assessment considerably.

I realize now that I'd need to see more movies to make that happen. Maybe I can rent -- I hear "The Ring" is good.

Good point on Lex. My basic theory is that youth and strength are no match for experience and treachery, so Batman would win, but with Lex on Clark's side those advantages would be neutralized, so ... maybe. But in the end, Clark will always give the bad guy a chance to redeem himself, no matter what Lex says, so there's still a risk Batman would prevail.

I'm ren. I may have introduced myself before, but I have a memory like an invisible seive, so...

I'm from the Australian contigent, fanwise. And I live for the fiction recs. Go the recs! I've also taken your advise bookwise a couple of times, though don't ask me to list titles (see previous comment re. cooking utensils and the visibility thereof).

Fell into your LJ through SV fandom - went hunting for favourite authors and went on a massive stalking friending spree.

Much as I'd love to say Superman would win, he's just not nuts enough. Batman is a psychopath. He has the technology and just enough insanity to do the deed. *g*

Mind you, if there were a Lex involved in the proceedings, things might be different...

Also, try to ignore the drunken spelling. My sober self is a lot more anal about these things. *g*
