I think I ruined astolat's day with the first version. She resurrected the Impala by clapping her hands and believing! Or maybe now we have to say "by chanting 'Impala' in unison with the rest of the world"!
This is both deliciously surreal and unexpectedly moving, with all the hallmarks of your writing (pitch-perfect voice, deft details, subtle/non-anvilly psychological insights into characters & relationship dynamics...). It's a terrific complement to Knight Moves -- plus I love the Suzanne Vega song that you riff off with the titles & lj-cut text! Of course, now I'm hoping for a postscript called "Impala on the Wall"....
YAY SAVED! I was hoping for a happy ending:) although I'd like to see a coda in which sam and dean actually get it on as each other:D loved this story! xoxoxo
I just casually and in no way hintingly point out that there could be something lovely where they are working on the car some late afternoon together, and their hands brush against each other, and there is maybe a little purr from her engine underneath them, and then sex in the back seat (which clearly she can perceive in great detail).
I am also in no way whatsoever hinting when I make note of the fact that we have now seen these relationships from the point of view of the three relevant characters, leaving one POV so far unwritten...

Also because I didn't mention before, I love:
This was unusually twisted, even by Winchester standards. Hell, it was unusually twisted by Voldemort standards.
