All the papers have been signed and effective 2/12/13, after the three day buyer's remorse bail-out-of-the-contract period (like that's gonna happen), I will have a new mortgage and a new mortgage company.
Me? Happy? Oh, my, yes!
I probably should have warned the poor title agent before setting the appointment that I actually *read* contracts, especially ones as big and important as a mortgage loan agreement. The process took a little longer than the 45 minutes she expected ... like almost half an hour longer ...
Not long after that estimated budgets were tentatively updated and are scheduled to be updated again when March 31st and my first payment with the whole new financial reconfiguration hits. March's "mortgage payment" (the one I don't have to make because of the lag time) will be hurled with great enthusiasm at the credit card, heralding the start of my next financial project. At least that process won't involve arguing with an arm of the Federal Government to accomplish. :)
Last night
arwensouth and
de_gonzac came over and champagne was duly consumed in celebration. There are tentative plans to reschedule the latke party to celebrate the little "miracle" that happened to finally get this process finished. After all, aren't all great victories celebrated with food shared with family and friends? :)
