A-kon part 3
So, it's the last day of the convention! We wake up and finish packing and loading the car, get dressed, and head downstairs. There's a scheduled signing by both SeikimaII and Inugami Circus-dan, but apparently A-kon forgot that SeikimaII were leaving that morning. Sooo... NO THIRD SIGNING FOR THEM.
This made Kyoukotan very sad because she wanted them to sign her boobs. :(
But the Inugami signing was still on! Yay! She wanted them to sign her CD and I my horns, so, Yay! And we still needed to get our picture taken for Cure Magazine >(
Since it was the last day of the con it was pretty uneventful. Still didn't sell anything and there wasn't much to do except troll the Jrock room. :O
1:30 rolled around and we went to the signing. Yep, I'm still taller than all of them. XD Which would make sense because MY FEET TOUCH THE GROUND when I go to the bathroom. SRSLY Japan: Calcium. Look into it.
We asked if we were allowed to ask for hugs, but they said no. :(
Kyoukotan wanted me to go first this time so that she could watch them sign my horns. Once again The Real Kyouko was afraid to touch them but I insisted and she signed away with the copper pen ^^
Next was Akira again, and he was ready for me! Handshake! Yes, it was firm and strong! Ok, done? NO! He shifted it to a thumb grasp (like for arm wrestling)! Ok, done? NO!! He pulled back and made a fist.... O_O!!
I BRO-FISTED INUGAMI AKIRA!!
And he would have gone on with this secret handshake but the Staff were glaring at me >> So I shoved the pen into his hand and bowed my head for him to sign the horns. He was excited ^^
Next was Zin again and he shook my hand with both hands again before signing excitedly. :3
And then Jyouji. As he was signing my horns and my head was down, I heard somebody mumble "MUZUKASHI!!" ("difficult") about something (turns out Zin was telling Kyoukotan that her CD was really rare and hard to get O_O We didn't mention that she'd paid $5 for it at Book-Off.), complete with hand flapping that got translated. I looked up again and Jyouji complimented my costume and then asked me to cosplay him next time. X'D So cute! I told him that we had made a Jyouji costume but our friend couldn't make the trip. :( (I'm glad I didn't have time to make my doll into Zin; that would have sucked for him!)
After that the photographer pulled us aside and took our photo finally @_@ We get to be in Cure! Yay! Hey, SPOOn, you have the bows in your hair! Yes I do >:) Better than on the horns like they were yesterday, though. :O Eat that, Japan Stans. AND I got bro-fisted. Boo-yah!
Finished up the day at the table and packed up after closing time. Said our goodbyes and then went to the car to drive home.
So.... yeah. We made that 1400 mile drive in 25 hours. After a full night's rest. If you've never done conventions, let me tell you something: Your average convention nut gets about 10-12 hours of sleep TOTAL all weekend. :D I think I did a little better than that, but I wasn't keeping track. Into the car we go. Onto the road.
Did a couple of gas stops, of course... in the middle of nowhere... We first pulled over after passing yet another prison... Gee, the gas is nearly $3 here and it looks like we can get mugged easily. Let's keep going, right? Well we found our way back into Silent Hill. All these dilapidated houses everywhere... We find a tiny little gas station with two pumps and a shit-ton of bugs crawling around. It's 11 at night and BTW I still have my Akira makeup on. O_O Otherwise known as THIS GUY WITH THE HORNS. After pumping the gas, I want the receipt! So I go to the window since they're obviously still in there counting out. I ask for the receipt and the guy has this look of "I'mma get my shotgun!" on his face as he shouts to me that they're closed. O____O;;; ok.... I just wanted the piece of paper...
Continue driving and I'm about to fall asleep not far from El Paso. It's about 2 in the morning, so we pull over to look for a motel. The Freakin' Super 8 is booked :| Found a Budget Inn and forked over $55 for three people to sleep in a room for less than 8 hours. Whatever. Free WiFi. And a dead cockroach in the bathroom. Checkout was at 11 FFS. :| Good night!
