whew.
I just got a job!
It's not permanent, sadly -- it sounds like it'll last me through about half of August, and then I'll need to find something else. But the search for a permanent position was getting me nowhere (no call back from Political Policy Journal; polite "thanks but we're hiring someone else" email from Nonprofit Training Org.), and the opportunity was there with this place, so I sent off my resume anyway. It moved incredibly fast -- I sent out my resume on Monday morning, got a phone call a few hours later, interviewed yesterday, and start tomorrow. Turns out the woman who hired me knows the guy who used to be editor-in-chief at Educational Publisher where I interned years ago, and he said good things about me. Craziness.
So. As of tomorrow morning, I'll be copyediting lesson plans for Small Educational Publisher downtown. More hours than my last job (boo) but higher pay rate (yay) so we should be able to keep the rent paid and the internet connected for the rest of the summer.
Woo!
Maybe now that I'm not panicking about the job thing, I'll be able to post some stuff here about other aspects of real life.
