Amusing house issues

May 05, 2011 12:48

I quite like my new tenants, and I hope they stay for a good long time. As a result, I feel personally bad whenever anything goes wrong with the house (like it's somehow my fault? It's 100 years old, things go wrong!). Luckily, they take things in stride.

This week, it was a leak. This has happened a couple times in the last few years, only when there's a strong southerly, which implies that water is blowing up between the panels. I've been unable to figure out where, so I called the insurance adjuster from a few years ago for a roofer recommendation.

Email from the tenant says:
"Jovial roofin' dudes are here at the mo, and something in the roof is
hilarious. However, I gather from the yelling between guy inside attic
and guys on roof that all it needs is "A SILICONE GUN, A RAG AND A
HAMMER BRO".

Which at least sounds relatively inexpensive."
