Oh yes, and I forgot to add: we planted spinach, radishes and arugula last week and they are now popped up and are getting their first leaves. One spinach plant has three cotyledons (and three leaves where there should only be two) and I was thinking of how I would go able trying to discover which gene is responsible for this mutation and how the mutation must be apparent in the shoot apical meristem.

A few days ago we planted snap peas and yesterday we planted some sweet peas and swiss chard. We will have to remember to keep them watered because we found out these boxes we made are under the eavestroughs and don't get any natural rainwater. It turned into a desert in the winter.
