So I was going to be good and go to bed seeing as I have been incredibly sick lately and I have to work early in the morning but I needed to share this. The only way to describe this band Alice In Videoland is that it is Goth-pop. I was just sitting here checking my mail, being a good little girl (I swear I was, i wasn't doing anything really bad) while watching the new Asleep by Dawn music Dvd I had just bought when this pops up. My head could not comprehend the cheap "female-degrading-while-attempting-to-sound-empowered" type lyrics that most pop stars sing at some point but with a slight (very slight) gothy-industrial twist to it. No seriously watch it. I think we just found Christina Aquilara's little sister.
That drummer is a bit ridiculous also.
This video saddens me.
That Asleep by Dawn (a magazine that I have long respected for its taste and knowledge of the Goth/Industrial music culture) even thought to put that video under their name more than a little disgusts.
Don't get me wrong, it's not that bad on its own but that they are trying to pass that off as Goth is a little repugnant. If they said they were main stream I might even congratulate them on their attempt at being a little different. Not that they really succeeded but the effort is there.
