i've got my mind set on you...

Normally, I would say that I'm having an emotional few days... but this has been going on for weeks now. Lots of things that would normally barely phase me, are making me cry. I'm such a dork, but I cried reading a review of an X-Files episode.

When I heard on thursday morning that George was deathly ill, I started to cry. And when I told my sister, I was bawling. It's strange. George was always my favorite Beatle. I remember in music class in sixth grade, my friend and I were looking through our music text and came across a picture of the Beatles. I remember thinking how serious and sweet-looking George seemed. With John and Paul and their affable rivalry and Ringo's innate goofiness, George seemed to be the solid one, with his feet on the ground... he understood what was real. I've always admired him for that. He just seemed like a sweet soul and it feels colder with him gone. His faith has been fulfilled, I'm sure.

I really wanted to hear "My Sweet Lord" so I downloaded audiogalaxy... it has reminded me of those Marz days. How I've missed it;) and Napster... I'd come to work, open up napster or audiogalaxy, download music, placate bitchy customers, chit-chat with my lovely co-workers. It was the most challenging job (when I was actually answering calls, of course) I've ever had... and there was always the feeling that every day was completely different from the next. And despite my desire for the comfort of routine, I enjoyed it. At Borders, I'm feeling the same thing... that every day is going to be different, but it's worth it. Although, I don't have the same rapport with these co-workers... I don't know if I'll have another experience in that respect that matches Marz. I miss everyone terribly, especially you, Tiff, and I really hope that we all get together soon. And you and I, Tiff, should do something.

I realized ealier that today (or technically yesterday) is my half-birthday, which means just 6 more months of being a teenager. I'm the only one amongst my friends who is looking forward to being 20. Missy's birthday is on Wednesday and she's dreading it. The only scary thing about getting older, Michelle and I've agreed, is that soon we will be out of school and in a career. School is what I do... it's what I'm good at. And if only I knew what I wanted to do with myself after school... but I'm not sure what I want or am capable of.

Ironically, I've been avoiding my papers... I know that I should have worked on them this past week, but I just can't seem to motivate myself. I'm tired and ready for a break. The next 2 weeks of said papers and exams just don't sound pleasant at the moment. I work tomorrow from 3-10, monday from 3-12... and two papers are due Thursday... I'll get it done, it's just going to be tight.

marz, borders, uni
