"I wish I didn't have to make all those mistakes and be wise."

I always think packing is going to be much faster than it actually is.... I should have been in bed 3 hrs ago as I'm waking up at 5ish to get to the train station for my train to Chicago. Meg and I are going to see Nickel Creek and then I'm going with her to her friend's wedding reception in Minnesota... originally I was thinking I would go to the 'tage on Saturday, but I didn't know until this week that I was going to have tomorrow off in order to go at all... And I feel like a bit of a jackass because I had mentioned this to Nena and Margaret, but I failed to call them to tell them for sure either way. I just got a message from Nena on facebook, so I called her and apologized and explained my change in plans. Frankly, I felt like I'd invaded their space enough lately, so I figured it wouldn't matter. Hello, low self-esteem. lol, anyway, she seemed fine with it, I just feel like a jerk. Next time I will call when I know what the heck is going on with my crazy life.

On Sunday, Mom, Colleen, Sarah, Melissa and I were going to see a 4pm showing of Becoming Jane, but it was sold out... so we got tickets for the 7 and I decided to stay and see the movie Once. I didn't know anything about it, but I'd seen the poster somewhere and just had a feeling I'd like it. And I actually loved it. It was fabulous and the music was gorgeous... I actually came home and bought it from iTunes. It's a sweet story, but a little bit on the sad side. And as for Becoming Jane, which of course was almost entirely fabrication because so little is known about Jane's life... those burned letters do suggest something juicy however;)... but it was fabulous, a worthy imagination of what her relationship with Lefroy might have been. And can I just say James McAvoy is beautiful... I seem to be particularly taken with the Scottish blokes lately. But he and Anne had great chemistry and the story was tragically beautiful. I had an interesting dream that night about Lefroy and Austen... it's a bit hazy, but I need to go to bed so that I'm not a complete wreck tomorrow. I have a lot of walking to do tomorrow. Hopefully the station has lockers, so I don't have to lug my backpack around with me when I go to the art museum. I'm bringing a biography of Jane Austen... because while I know very general details of her life... for instance I knew about Lefroy and the speculation that they wanted to marry but there was disapproval on both sides, but I feel I should have a greater knowledge of what is known. So I have that and Evening and HP7 to perhaps read over again as I read it so quickly the first time. I love train rides... listening to music, watching the scenery and all the time to read.

fabulous friends, james mcavoy, unexpected gems, films, nickel creek, train rides, chicago, rousing scotsmen, once, jane austen
