Well, graduation was Wednesday... it went well, though it felt strange because we didn't have our Comp Check until the next day. But it was really cool. Darlene called each of us up individually to pin on our wings. When she called my name, I walked up (apparently, I was strutting... lol, Terry told me I had the flight attendant "Walk") and poor Darlene dropped both of the backs for the pin down my dress. So I had to retrieve them:) It was pretty funny. My Mom finally met Darlene and Sheila, although, we didn't talk to Brett at all, which was odd. Thursday was kind of sad... I actually had my Comp Check first, and Darlene sweetly choose me. There were two other instructors helping out and while I knew my stuff, it just went more comfortably with Darlene because I know her. It took about an hour and there wasn't anything major that I forgot. So it was nice to get it over with and not have to sit there and worry about it:) So I talked with Terry, Sheila, Abby, and Brett and it was weird to think we wouldn't all be together anymore. Sheila was tearing up and I almost followed again, but somehow resisted. Just a weird day.
And I've finally gotten things straightened out... lol, all of last week I was trying to get answers from Michaela about how much time until our Fam flights and IOEs, but couldn't get a clear answer from her and I badgered poor Paula, the travel benefits woman, but it's all settled. I'm flying to Chicago tomorrow and will spend the evening with Meg and I'm then flying to London on Wednesday, but with the time difference and flight length won't be there until early Thurday morning. And from there I have 4 glorious days to cram everything in... I know I can't see everything, so just a few highlights and a couple of new things I didn't get around to before. It's totally surreal at the moment. Won't hit me till I'm on the plane. But I'm staying in Piccadilly, so it's really central and I'll be able to walk everywhere for the most part. Camden and Notting Hill and Greenwhich being the exceptions... we shall see. Oh and I have to see Earl's Court again... see what my street looks like now. Eee, so happy. I can't believe it's been two years; but this is only the first of many returns:) Funny story: I've never been blessed enough to have seen David Gray in concert... I cannot blame him for not coming to St. Louis; as far as I know I'm his only faithful listener in the area... however, the first time I was in London, my first day in fact, he played in Trafalgar Square, and I was unable to go as I had program business to attend to and tonight, as I was looking for concerts, I discovered David choose tonight and tomorrow night to play in London... We just keep missing each other. Maybe someday, David;)
I made a nerdy discovery a week or two ago that I really want to write about, a random connection only I'd be excited to tears over, but I'm gonna have to save it for when I get back:)
