The banner read Welcome back Class of 2005. Chloe smiled as she walked into The Talon. She couldn’t believe that it had been 10 years since graduation. She looked around and spotted Clark. “Looking good. How’s The Daily Planet’s ace reporter?”
“Thanks, Chloe. I thought that you’d be that reporter after being the school newspaper editor.”
“Actually I am but in Star City. Since it’s Oliver’s home, it makes sense and besides, I didn’t want to compete with you for stories.”
“So where’s Oliver? I thought he’d be here.”
“Hi, sweetie. Sorry that I’m late but work seems to be forever. I told my assistant not to call or text unless the world’s on fire. Hi, Clark.”
“Good to see you, Oliver. Lois is running late too.”
“Over here, Clark,” as Lois rushed in. “I swear that work is endless. I just finished my latest article and sent it in. Remember that you promised to write about the reunion.”
“Of course, honey. Chloe, want to write it together and then post in both newspapers?”
“Sound like a plan. So let’s start by seeing whose here.”
Clark smiled at Lois, “Want to head back to the farm? It’ll be quiet and Mom would love to see you.”
“Sounds like a plan. So, Chloe where are you two staying?”
“Oliver and I bought a place in Smallville as our second home. It makes a nice retreat when we want to get away. Why don’t you two join us for breakfast?”
Oliver chimed in, “Actually, can we meet at the farm? I’ve heard so many stories from Chloe about the fun times she had there.”
“Let me check with Mom since it’s her place.” He walked away for a moment and then back, “She’d love to see you and meet Oliver so 7 A.M. sound good?”
“Great so we’ll see you there. Come on, sweetie, it’s late.”
“Bye Lois. See you tomorrow.” A quick hug and Chloe was gone.
