Every day is painfully the same, yet vastly different (thanks, Kate Gosselin!)

Today has been at once incredibly up and down and quite banal.  I almost got killed by some fucking asshole New York driver who sailed into my lane, without signaling, while I was still in it as he was too impatient to slow down for the car which was turning in front of him.  I hit my horn so hard I'm suprised I didn't break it, and still ended up being run slightly onto the curb.  I was able to yank the wheel back sheerly on instinct alone and pulled over to check my car, which was fine.  I was shaking so hard for a minute that I couldn't do anything but stand there, but then I got back into my car.  In hindsight I wish I hadn't stopped at all and simply caught up with that motherfucker, who naturally sped away and did not even stop or slow down to make sure that he, you know, hadn't killed the chick in the VW that he nearly crashed into.  I am not confrontational by nature but I would have gotten out of the car and yelled.  I seriously could have been killed, all because he was too impatient to slow down, too impatient to look to the fucking right to make sure I wasn't in the lane, and then didn't listen to my horn and continued to swerve into my lane anyway.

I am so glad I don't live in that state anymore.  In my 5 years there none of that was atypical for the average New York driver.

Yesterday I saw Frost/Nixon.  It was great.  This makes 3 good films I've seen over the break.  Tonight my friend from my old job and I are going out again, to which I say: fuck it, man, let's go ice skating.

I'll update with how many times I fall right on my ass and/or knees.

Edit: Fell twice, which wasn't so bad, although both times I landed hard on my knees.  They're sore already, I bet they'll look like grapefruits tomorrow!
