[Spoiler for tonight's SPN and general rambling] I was hoping for Gabriel when Cas and Sam found the fake heaven, because '7 8 9' password, the Raiders reference, and the over the top fake heaven? It was screaming "Gabriel"! :Iz sad fangirl:
There is one thing that I don't think Metatron realizes: the writer that thinks he controls his characters and plot sometimes ends up with a bad novel. From personal experience, characters don't always comply with the writer's demands. Sometimes they do things the writer doesn't expect. Same is true with plots.
When I saw Tessa I knew someone was going to die--ooops--wasn't expecting that plot twist. I felt bad that she could heard the souls trapped in Limbo screaming. It makes me wonder how many of the suicide bomber angels were Reapers as well.
My question about the season finale is: How does Dean control/remove the Mark of Cain once Metatron is dead? No, that's not a spoiler, just an educated guess. Is he able to control it enough not to turn it on Sam or Cas? If Metatron does die, who will fill that power void? Does anyone besides him know where the portal to Heaven is?
And were the Dean/Cas fangirls melting into a puddle when Cas chose Dean over his followers' loyalties? Cas, as much as he loves his brothers and sisters, loves humanity in general and Dean over everything. Will the writers risk fandom's wrath and have Cas sacrifice himself to save Dean? Or could we get another visit from a certain archangel to save them both next season? Yes, yes, wishful thinking, but a girl can dream. It would be a good story for Sam to do it, but the writers won't get rid of him.
Where does Crowley fit into all this? I'm thinking him saving his son is going to come back and bite everyone in the ass at some point.
