Oh Dean

I loved the idea of this episode, the MOTW calling Dean on all his guilt, but to pick Amy of all people? What is he feeling guilty about? Killing Amy? It didn't seem like he felt guilt at the end of the last episode. The fact that he kept the secret from Sam? Wouldn't that fall under all the guilty things he's hiding from Sam? What about the fact that he killed Amy, even if it was unintentional, in front of her son? Or are we meant to think it's all that wrapped up in one nice ball?

It was good to see Jo, but out of all the people could Osiris have used to make Dean feel guilty? Helloooo? What about Cas? Or do beings from other pantheons not count?

Making Cas one of the witnesses would have been so much more powerful. Cas fell for Dean, died twice for him, swallowed down all the souls in Purgatory so he could save Dean and the rest of the world from another Apocalypse. Next to Sam, that would been the heaviest of Dean's guilty burdens.

All I can hope this is a set up for something further down the line. Even if it is? Why devote an episode to it that could have been used to flesh out what happened post-ep .02? As much as we all hope for an eighth season, this might be the last one.

Why was Osiris out looking for live people to judge? Was he cranky that he didn't have enough worshipers to judge?

That said, on to the good things about the ep:

Dean in chains. Come on, you were thinking was a lovely thing that was to see too.

Almost lawyer!Sam. Objecting to everything and questioning Dean in a way that made the maybe-I-am-angsting-too-much-about-things-I-can't-control light bulb flip to the 'on' position.

Dean kinda sorta going back to his flirty ways. Not to get laid so much as find a sympathetic ear. I think Dean misses the fact that he could unload on Cas because he wouldn't go all emo on him. Plus, one more sly hint that when Cas/Dean is canon. Yes, I'm totally wearing my slash goggles.

The who thing in the motel room with Jo. How she got around the salt line, to Dean teasing her about having a crush on him. How she doesn't deny it just gets a rueful smile and tells him to shut up.

How Sam believes he's paid his dues in Hell. That Dean has done the same thing and should let go of his guilt too. However, Sam didn't torture people on the rack. So is Dean's slate wiped clean?

Was it just me or did Dean's freckles seem more visible than usual making him seem younger and more vulnerable?
