Kripke finally got the boys in the Mustang like he always wanted. And the original license plate back. This ep made me wonder what else was changed in this universe. I heard rumors that Jeffery Dean Morgan might have done an appearance. It would have been cool to see him again, but I have to wonder how different Sam and Dean might have been if John was still around. But yay! Ellen! She and Gabriel both need to come back.
Awww, Rock, Paper, Scissors! That should have given it away right there when Dean won. "Always with the scissors, Dean."
It took me a long time to warm up to Balthazar, but this ep showed me how far he's willing to go to help Cas out. He's willing to lie to Sam and Dean so it looks like Cas' hands are clean. He really doesn't have a filter between his brain and mouth. Or maybe his does. Maybe he's trying to wake Dean up. I can see the fic from this one.
"The angel in the dirty trench coat? The one who's in love with you?"
I almost fell on the floor.
I loved the whole feel of the scene between Atropos and Cas.
This little snippet from Greek Mythology.com? I found it interesting.
The Fates have the subtle but awesome power of deciding a man's destiny. They assign a man to good or evil. Their most obvious choice is choosing how long a man lives. There are three Fates. Clotho, the spinner, who spins the thread of life. Lachesis, the measurer, who choses the lot in life one will have and measures off how long it is to be. Atropos, she who cannot be turned, who at death with her shears cuts the thread of life.
The Fates are old and predate the gods. It is not entirely clear how far their power extends. It is possible that they determine the fate of the gods as well. In any case, not even the most powerful is willing to trifle with them.
Bold emphasis mine. This could be why Castiel isn't willing to piss her off. Atropos can end everything. Makes me wonder if she and Death hang out. Beer and pizza?
Okay, I'll admit it, Cas admitting to Sam and Dean why he did what he did almost killed me, but the boys taking care of Bobby and Dean covering him up with a blanket finished me off.
You did it again, Show. Ran me through the gamut of emotions, left me wondering where the time went, and wanting for more right now.
