So, yeah....
I'm working at the Armory for the past week, this week and probably two more after this. I've got an application in for the full time AGR position doing Admin for the 216th and likely have a good shot - not many people WANT to deal with our soldiers. It likely will help that I've been dealing with 80% of them for the past 15 months or so...
Right now I spend my days trying to straighten up the records and the office in general while listening to my iPod and not cussing people who left my precious records in such dissaray....Seriously - sometimes I find 5 copies of the same thing in these files..why would I need 5 copies? I just need 1!
Now that I'm out of school I've been kinda fustrated with trying to spend more time with John. He watches TV a lot at night and I really don't like to watch TV (especially with him - cause he flips the channels a lot). Sometimes I don't mind to just sit with him and read my book (Currently reading: A Clash of Kings by George R. Martin)....but some nights the TV distracts me and I just get more fustrated. So...I've decided I'm taking myself off my computer more - especially in regards to mIRC. During school I was on most nights, cause I was doing homework all night and needed the distraction so I could focus (yes...I'm odd like that) - but I don't wanna be on the computer that much if I can help it....So Wed. night is now devoted to computer/mIRC time (mostly cause Athens Ohio games are on Wed night) and the rest are for whatever - hopefully mostly filled with John and Loki or other fulfilling things.
I won't be able to make ChiKalb (very very unfortunately) due to budgetary issues. :( I'm very sorry to miss the opportunity to hang out with my northern friends, but hope to make up for it at ICC if you are all there. :) ICC will hopefully be as much of a blast as SCRE (sans the Quarter) and I'm desperately looking forward to seeing all my friends. Booze, merriment, and minor debaucheries shall prevail!
My baby sister graduated last Friday night. She's 18 and a high school graduate, she has a semi-serious boyfriend (although she's admitted he's not marriage material). She's going to take a year off from college and get a few jobs to save up money. Likely smarter than what I did...She's more nieve, but also a good amount of stubborn and rather set in her ways on a lot of important issues. I don't worry as much as I used to about her. She's also holding off on doing LARP because (in her words) boyfriends take up a lot of time...so the 'Protect Montana Squad' can stand down for now....
Mom and Dad are doing fairly well. Dad's still working at MEPs inprocessing new enlistees as they go off to their 6 months or so of hell-ish training. Mom is still working at DHS (being overworked of course) and still loving it cause of the kids (she could care less about most of the adults). She's also finally going to visit a chiropractor John & I found (and HIGHLY recommend for anyone who lives near Conway). So hopefully that'll help with her health issues that she's been having (nothing too serious, just some minor/moderate ones that have been adding up lately).
John and I also just got the clearance to start excersizing (cautiously) again, so hopefully we'll start getting back into shape soon - with my working in NLR I'll be able to use the gym on Camp Robinson (which has a good bit of nice equipment - most importantly the non-hurting-cardio machines) while John will be most likely left to his own devices. Although, I wanna get one of those big excersize balls....not sure when that'll happen though.
So....that's about all that I have, although it was more than I thought it would be.
