Kingdom Hearts Rant
And now the more knowledgable and curious people might be wondering, why am I writing a journal this late at night? Especially when the graduation ceremony is tomorrow? Well, I'll tell you. It's because I'm STUPID.
Anyhoo.
I just got the inspiration for a short rant/proclamation involving the third Kingdom Hearts game. The reason is because I happened upon a fanart about the trailer (which was actually pretty funny, and I got it right away - yay me ^^). And here it is: my proclamation.
I DO NOT want to hear/read/see ANY spoilers for the game beforehand!!!!!!!!!
*pauses to allow breathing to go back to normal* There we go. Okay, SERIOUSLY. I got spoilers for almost EVERY SINGLE CRUCIAL PLOTPOINT in KH 2! Do you know how FRUSTRATING that is when you play the game? There's absolutely no sense of surprise AT ALL! I LIKE the surprise, thank you very much! Then I can see it in the order it was meant to be seen, and figure it out for myself, and say to myself, "Wow, that's a really ingenious and original plot twist! The game makers are really good!" But NO. I couldn't do that for KH2! Thankfully, I hadn't been absorbed into the Internet mainstream before I played the first game, so I only got minor spoilers from friends (only involving stuff like how to meet up w/ Donald and Goofy in Traverse Town, because it is so ANNOYING to figure out on your own). But yeah! With KH2, my very game-savvy friends played it way before me, as did just about everyone on the Internet (I generally wait until a game's price goes down or I can borrow it to play it; I'm slightly cheap and slightly smart, I guess), and add that to the fact that my curiousity had me browsing through the mega-guidebook they had at a gaming store and seeing the Shadow Sora form and the Pirates world, thus ruining THOSE fun little surprises; so, basically, I was exposed to every spoiler you can imagine! I already knew who the Nobodies were, and who's Nobody was who's, and where this main character and that one fit in...(note my strategic avoidance of specifics, in case there's anyone here who hasn't played it yet. ^^ But you get my meaning.) There were maybe a handfull of things I didn't already know about that were big huge "HOLY CRAP" moments in the game.
*laughs* I actually find myself thinking that I'm GLAD I'm going to Texas for a year, because hopefully it will be a year where I will have a whole lot less exposure to spoiler sources! But yeah, here's the thing:
If you are my friend, and you care and wish to preserve my sanity and my future pleasure in playing Kingdom Hearts 3 (don't give me the name lecture; I know they aren't calling it that), then PLEASE: DO NOT TELL ME ANYTHING YOU LEARN ABOUT THIS GAME, EVER! I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW!!!
Okay...I guess I've gotten the point across. :D I really can't wait to see this one come out, though! It looks really amazing. Thankfully, the only spoilers I've gotten so far are the names of the knights in the trailer, and some minor ideas/info on why there are a bazillion keyblades in the trailer, and something about the knights being linked to certain known characters, I guess. That was the one in the fanart I mentioned that sparked this. Now I have the sinking feeling that that is gonna mess me up big time! But still; at least I still have no idea what the plot is! :D Now let's keep it that way!
And on a side note: the Japanese Square Enix people hate us. There is absolutely no proper justification for them to withhold KH: Final Mix, KH2: Final Mix+, AND the Playstation2 version of RE:Chain of Memories from us Americans. I don't care what jazz we pulled with the first game, all we did was add a few villains who weren't at all important to the plot. Big whoop - not enough of a reason. Conclusion: they hate us, and that's all there is to it. (My friend Burd believes they're still holding a grudge over WWII. XD Man, I hope not, because that's not only sad, it's downright unhealthy!)
