Hey, friends list!

I have gotten some very sweet PMs over the past few days, despite not having used this journal too much over the past few years, so I just wanted to put up a general post letting everyone know that I am alive, well, and not a pile a nuclear goop.

For those of you asking what you can do: the thing that is needed the most right now is money to the charities that know what to do with it. Right now the Red Cross is your best bet -- they are working with the Japanese government and are able to get on the ground in the disaster areas quicker than anyone else. http://www.redcross.org/ At this point, they are the *only* charity that I recommend.

Also, please stop watching CNN. They are just in love with Chernobyl comparisons for some reason. For more a balanced, agenda-free news outlet, check out: http://blogs.aljazeera.net/live/asia/disaster-japan-live-blog

And that’s it! I am alive! Sick of aftershocks, but honestly fine. I hope the rest of you in Japan are keeping safe.
