Well, everyone, here we are in the final official original three serials of the great & mighty Troughton rewatch-athon! Next week will be entirely devoted to the final serial of Two, Jamie & Zoe's - The War Games. I'll have it up on early Saturday morning, as usual, but I'll hopefully watching two serials a day, recapping each one in its own separate segment. (it's a ten-episode serial & it . . . it's not very pleasant. I mean, it has its moments, but if you know anything about Two's era, you'll know why I'm so uncomfortable with it.) After that, the rewatch-athon will be in its final stages, which will look something like this:
Next week: The War Games, picspam & mix postings.
Week after: Spearhead From Space, The Curse of Peladon & The Three Doctors. (the first two are sort of bonus stories; the first bridging the gap between Two & Three's eras, the second one starring Patrick's son David as King Peladon. & of course, The Three Doctors needs no explanation!)
Week after: The Five Doctors, The Two Doctors & Jamie's Companion Chronicle Helicon Prime.
Final week: Midnight & wrap-up party.
Note: I know most of you know that I've broken almost all ties with the new series (until Eleven arrives, anyway), but I'm including Midnight because it features David Troughton as one of the main characters - by including it, I'm coming full circle, as I see it. It's like this: if it hadn't been for the new series, I never would have came to the classic series & never would have found a) half of you lot & b) so many of my favourite serials & my three favourite Doctors. So, while I'd rather not sit through Midnight again, for David Troughton, I shall do it with pleasure.
I'll reiterate most of this next week with my recap of The War Games, but due to the nature of that story . . . coherence will be a bit of a fluke, if I can even pull it off by the end.
Anyway, that is next week, & it will all come in time, won't it? For now, we've three fabulous serials for this week, beginning with The Krotons, which was the second serial I ripped into after I watched The Dominators when I got them.
Also, interestingly enough, this serial combines everything I've been doing in the rewatch - serials, audios & .avi! If I had a recon we'd be all fitted out, wouldn't we? ::laughs::
The Krotons
- O hooray! This is a serial written by Robert Holmes! He did so many of my favourite Four era serials, so I tend to be quite fond of his work.
- Man, EVERY TIME they mention the Krotons, I'm going to think of Kroton the Cyberman. Who is WAY more awesome than these Krotons, but that's for another time.
- Awww, Two's using his umbrella as a parasol of sorts! How cute!
- HELLO ZOE HERIOT & YOUR ABSOLUTELY HOT OUTFIT! ::waves excitedly:: LOVE the scarf, skirt & boots! & her HAIR!
- Random fashion note: Jamie's little kerchief is UTTERLY adorable! It looks like a school tie, almost.
- The chick who's about to go into the machine has a sort of Brigitte Bardot-esque hairstyle, I think. Just not as long & rumply.
- 'We are friends!'

- Hmm. The guy interrogating the poor custodian of the learning hall looks a little like Mark Strickson, I think. Mmm, pretty.
- Mm. Two looks quite lovely when thinking. His thinky face is sexy! (well, ALL of Two's faces are sexy. Even when he's asleep.)
- Random fashion note two: Does anyone have an idea of what material Zoe's jacket & skirt are made out of? I'd say maybe something in PVC, but it doesn't look quite as shiny as PVC does. Maybe a leather of some sort?
- O dear . . . the Krotons are watching Two. & he's being awesome & smart & all full of win. For once, I think someone needs to get Two to SHUT UP. That is, if we don't want HIM walking into that machine next! ::worries::
- Aww, Jamie clinging to Zoe! But TWO! ::flails:: The poor thing looks so scared!
- ARGH, HAVING FLASHBACKS TO The Omen JESUS CHRIST.

I must say, that after such a high-octane serial like The Invasion, The Krotons was almost a holiday! This too was one of the first serials I watched when nentari gave them to me, as it came right after my second favourite serial of Two's era. & I do like it - it feels a bit more low-key & almost calmer than the last few serials I've recapped. So it is in a way like a holiday.
& Zoe's outfit is totally awesome in it! I'd love to wear that skirt! (but I'd have tights on, of course!)
Now we're coming to a serial that I acquired especially for the rewatch-athon back when I was setting it all up - & couldn't believe I'd found it when I did! I've had it for a while now & this is the first time I've seen it! So my recap may be rather scattered, since I'll have so much to take in & to see & enjoy for the first time, but I'll try & be coherent still. But nentari's told me many lovely things about this story, so I'm really looking forward to seeing it & recapping it! I apologise for my scatterbrained ramblings in advance, folks!
The Seeds of Death
- Random fashion note: I LOVE Miss Kelly's hair!
& her first name is Gia - what a pretty name!
- I might be a bit biased already, because I've heard really good things about Miss Kelly before, but I like her already! Far more than I liked Miss Garrett in The Ice Warriors, even before she proved to be a mindless twit. & she seems a lot warmer & friendlier than Miss Garrett did as well - which is a great plus, of course!
- O dear - trouble's already begun & the Doctor hasn't even arrived yet! ::worries::
- Uh-oh. I know that voice. Rather well, too.
- I love how this is being shot so far - you're not SEEING what everyone's looking at or talking to, but it still remains quite creepy, or at the very least, unsettling!
- O, we know that sound - hello Team TARDIS version 2.3! & HELLO JAMIE! ::waves::
- Stuck in space? Well, they're no webbing around, so it isn't the yeti back for revenge . . .
- A SPACE MUSEUM? OMFG AWESOME!
- Random fashion note two: Zoe's still in her great outfit from The Krotons!
- Random fashion note three: JAMIE'S SHIRT. IT . . . IT HAS LACES! ::FLAILS:: GUH. HE LOOKS MIGHTY FINE IN THAT SHIRT, SERIOUSLY.
- Okay, now we're seeing glimpses of the Ice Warriors now. Eeep.

- Hee, Two geeking out over space rockets! So adorable!
- Now you have to keep in mind that I've never SEEN an Ice Warrior up close - those things are TERRIFYING indeed!
- O, Jamie & Zoe wanting to help is positively adorable. & Two being totally willing is even more wonderful. ::draws hearts::
- I kind of love Miss Kelly - she, unlike Miss Garrett, can think OUTSIDE her box! & it's leading to something quite useful, isn't it?
- The Ice Warriors are just hideous - like overgrown reptiles that learnt to walk like humans.
- O! Look at Two, Jamie & Zoe go! & please Miss Kelly - don't doubt Jamie's abilities. He's far more experienced than most people might think.
- & yes, I heart Miss Kelly. She's pretty awesome so far!
- Fashion note number five: Zoe appears to have changed her outfit between serials. WITH LACES ON!
- Zoe's certainly in her element here, I think! ::beams::
- I'd also like to note that there are some lovely optical effects during the preparation of the rocket for take-off. Visually, they're quite interesting!

- Jamie is definitely one of the few sorts that I can think of that would crawl through maintenance tunnels IN A KILT, bare knees & all. Having had to crawl through a tunnel or two myself in trousers, I've got to admire that about him. ::hugs Jamie::
- This serial's REALLY got some very tense spots in it - I can't even recap, I'm getting so tense!

Now THAT was an exciting serial, I must say! It was a six-parter & never once did it feel like it was dragging or getting repetitive or dull - lots of action & awesome & oooo, I just loved it! SO GOOD. & Gia Kelly is TOTALLY an unofficial girl of Who - she's another character that would have been absolutely splendid in the TARDIS, I think. Too bad she couldn't have at least SEEN it!
& OMG JAMIE. ::flails:: He was crazy brave & well - as wonderful as ever, pretty much! & he saved Two at the very end & helped him stop the Ice Warriors, all while wearing one fab outfit! & walking through foam. ::nods::
Since I'm so close to - well, certain things . . . watching just Two & Jamie working together like that . . . well, it felt very much like old times, in ways.
& now, our final serial for the week, which combines the old favourite mixup of listening to the audio of, then watching the serial of The Space Pirates.
The Space Pirates - audio & serial
- This is another Robert Holmes story & if I remember right, the serial portion of it is the earliest work of his on Doctor Who that I'd ever seen before.
- Hmm. Criminals prowling around in space attacking cargo ships . . . sounds a bit like a space Western to me! ::beams::
- 'Deep space sickness' . . . so there is such a form of space dementia, but it takes a more physical attack. Hmmm.
- O, hello Doctor & all! Though I don't think you've all picked the best section of the beacon to land in . . .
- Aww, ever the pragmatist, our Jamie. ::blows kiss::
- OI, WHAT'S WITH THE SHOOTING?! SHOOT TO KILL - HOW ABOUT ASKING A QUESTION, THEN GETTING ALL TRIGGER HAPPY, CHRIST!
- O, & while you're chasing innocent darlings about, your pirates are right on your beacon!
- O goodness! Now the ones chasing Two, Jamie & Zoe have been shot by the space pirates! Um . . . a good thing? Well, I mean, at least they can't come after Two & his friends now! But they don't know that & that fact still has them trapped!
- Uh-oh, I think I'm beginning to connect how the opening of the second serial happened now . . .
- The door's been welded shut? Then - then when the charges go off, the TARDIS is going to end up floating off before Two, Jamie & Zoe can get to it!
- Moving into the only surviving serial for the second story . . . the beacon's just separated & Two, Jamie & Zoe are flying around their bit of the beacon!
- However . . . we do get one of the best moments of collective unconsciousness to ever be seen in Two's era! Now that just looks quite inappropriate. ::gigglesnorts::
(random fashion note - I ALWAYS thought Zoe was in a dress in this serial. But after seeing all of episode two? THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT SHE'S GOT A DRESS ON. HELL NO.)
- HAHA, SPACE MINER! ::laughs:: I don't know . . . it's just very funny to me! & it is another touch of space Western-ness. & he even sounds like someone in a Western!

- Yes, Milo Clancy is very space Western-esque - I think he would have fit in well in an episode of Firefly.
- LOLZ, ZOE APPEARS TO BE GROPING TWO. & Jamie's got his hand on Two's thigh - I'm sorry, my mind is very wrong when I watch this serial. ::giggle::
- Random fashion note two: I adore Zoe's hot pants & jacket! & Pat's sideburns don't seem to be as wild as they were in The Seeds of Death, happily!

- Zoe has DAMN good arms. Yes, this bears repeating.
- & now not only are they running out of air, but they're just floating much further out into space now!
- TWO'S HEAD IS IN JAMIE'S LAP RIGHT NOW. & they're all still sharing oxygen. & no, it will not stop being funny, especially now.

- Also, he's grasped the concept of Two & his companions travelling in space AND time very fast! Usually it takes people until the end of a serial to even believe such a thing!
- HEY! Don't you regulate miss Zoe Heriot to the kitchen, mister! She'd be able to rewire your ship AND blow up those military ships on your tail in under a minute! ::glares:: Make a pot of tea. HUMPH!
- ::squeezes Jamie's hand:: I know, love, I know. It's okay, you'll be fine. Deep breaths & concentrate on other things. ♥♥
- It's a little hard to reserve all my judgement on Milo until the end of the serial - with the exception of the above, I like him so far! But I know, first impressions can be deceiving & all.
- HAHA, ZOE'S MATHEMATICAL SKILLS WORKED OUT WHERE THE BITS OF THE BEACON ARE HEADED! ::tacklehugs her:: This girl is awesome. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.

- Earlier this week, nentari & I were talking & I mentioned that I'm more of a space Western kind of girl & she asked if I was just thinking of Firefly or this serial as well. I said I thought of both & Cowboy Bebop, & now, as I'm listening to it, I'd say that this serial definitely falls into the category of being a space Western.
- O no! They've been found! RUN, RUN!
- DISAPPEARING GROUND WTF?!
- O, well, they landed on a FLOOR at least, but it sounds like it was a painful landing!
- Jamie, please don't have hurt yourself when you landed!
- Two's awfully sure of himself about there being a second door in the prison cell. But he has a very logical point! There is another door there, he just needs to find it.

- Despite being in league with pirates, Madeline seems to have retained her sense of morals & humanity, if not a stronger temperance of her greed.
- . . . the old man is Madeline's father? . . . what did she do to him? Maybe she hasn't retained her morals & her humanity as much as I thought she did.
- But nevertheless . . . Madeline wants to fight back. I feel rather confused about her now . . .
- Madeline didn't know her father was alive? O my goodness . . . o, poor Madeline.
- 'Jamie, sometimes I don't think you appreciate all I do for you.'

- The Second Doctor, ladies & gentlemen - he can whip up a plan with just a bit of candle wax & a bag of marbles. ::beams::
- O NO. NO. Two, you have to be okay, you just HAVE to be!

- Madeline just narrowly managed to pwn space pirates. Not bad!
- FTW! Space pirates have been blown up!
- O, goodness, the TARDIS! I'd forgot all about it myself!
- But Milo'll help them get it back - & it'll be fab. ::smiles::

The first time I watched the only surviving serial of this, I felt that it dragged, considerably. & I'd read before that it wasn't one of the most highly regarded serials of Two's era, despite it being his next to last one. But this time, I wanted to keep an open mind about this & since I did, I found that I enjoyed this story much more than I'd expected! I suppose it was once I connected all the pieces that I could fully enjoy it. My only whine is that I felt that the end serial did drag a bit, to the point where I was losing a bit of interest. But I admit, I was doing something else at the time & so I wasn't really as focused as I should have been, perhaps. But there were bits of it that I liked. I just felt like it was running over-long for me.
& the ending . . . the ending was good. It ended with laughter, & Jamie's sweet witticisms. Which makes what's to come even more saddening. But it was good that this ended well - if it had ended sadly, it would have been worse in the end. So while this ending, as nice as it was, was bittersweet for me, I don't think I'd like to have it any other way.
& that was the last three major serials of this part of the great & mighty Troughton rewatch-athon! I'll be back next week with The War Games.

Note: I know most of you know that I've broken almost all ties with the new series (until Eleven arrives, anyway), but I'm including Midnight because it features David Troughton as one of the main characters - by including it, I'm coming full circle, as I see it. It's like this: if it hadn't been for the new series, I never would have came to the classic series & never would have found a) half of you lot & b) so many of my favourite serials & my three favourite Doctors. So, while I'd rather not sit through Midnight again, for David Troughton, I shall do it with pleasure.
I'll reiterate most of this next week with my recap of The War Games, but due to the nature of that story . . . coherence will be a bit of a fluke, if I can even pull it off by the end.
Anyway, that is next week, & it will all come in time, won't it? For now, we've three fabulous serials for this week, beginning with The Krotons, which was the second serial I ripped into after I watched The Dominators when I got them.
Also, interestingly enough, this serial combines everything I've been doing in the rewatch - serials, audios & .avi! If I had a recon we'd be all fitted out, wouldn't we? ::laughs::
The Krotons
- O hooray! This is a serial written by Robert Holmes! He did so many of my favourite Four era serials, so I tend to be quite fond of his work.
- Man, EVERY TIME they mention the Krotons, I'm going to think of Kroton the Cyberman. Who is WAY more awesome than these Krotons, but that's for another time.
- Awww, Two's using his umbrella as a parasol of sorts! How cute!
- HELLO ZOE HERIOT & YOUR ABSOLUTELY HOT OUTFIT! ::waves excitedly:: LOVE the scarf, skirt & boots! & her HAIR!
- Random fashion note: Jamie's little kerchief is UTTERLY adorable! It looks like a school tie, almost.
- The chick who's about to go into the machine has a sort of Brigitte Bardot-esque hairstyle, I think. Just not as long & rumply.
- 'We are friends!'

- Hmm. The guy interrogating the poor custodian of the learning hall looks a little like Mark Strickson, I think. Mmm, pretty.
- Mm. Two looks quite lovely when thinking. His thinky face is sexy! (well, ALL of Two's faces are sexy. Even when he's asleep.)
- Random fashion note two: Does anyone have an idea of what material Zoe's jacket & skirt are made out of? I'd say maybe something in PVC, but it doesn't look quite as shiny as PVC does. Maybe a leather of some sort?
- O dear . . . the Krotons are watching Two. & he's being awesome & smart & all full of win. For once, I think someone needs to get Two to SHUT UP. That is, if we don't want HIM walking into that machine next! ::worries::
- Aww, Jamie clinging to Zoe! But TWO! ::flails:: The poor thing looks so scared!
- ARGH, HAVING FLASHBACKS TO The Omen JESUS CHRIST.

I must say, that after such a high-octane serial like The Invasion, The Krotons was almost a holiday! This too was one of the first serials I watched when nentari gave them to me, as it came right after my second favourite serial of Two's era. & I do like it - it feels a bit more low-key & almost calmer than the last few serials I've recapped. So it is in a way like a holiday.
& Zoe's outfit is totally awesome in it! I'd love to wear that skirt! (but I'd have tights on, of course!)
Now we're coming to a serial that I acquired especially for the rewatch-athon back when I was setting it all up - & couldn't believe I'd found it when I did! I've had it for a while now & this is the first time I've seen it! So my recap may be rather scattered, since I'll have so much to take in & to see & enjoy for the first time, but I'll try & be coherent still. But nentari's told me many lovely things about this story, so I'm really looking forward to seeing it & recapping it! I apologise for my scatterbrained ramblings in advance, folks!
The Seeds of Death
- Random fashion note: I LOVE Miss Kelly's hair!
& her first name is Gia - what a pretty name!
- I might be a bit biased already, because I've heard really good things about Miss Kelly before, but I like her already! Far more than I liked Miss Garrett in The Ice Warriors, even before she proved to be a mindless twit. & she seems a lot warmer & friendlier than Miss Garrett did as well - which is a great plus, of course!
- O dear - trouble's already begun & the Doctor hasn't even arrived yet! ::worries::
- Uh-oh. I know that voice. Rather well, too.
- I love how this is being shot so far - you're not SEEING what everyone's looking at or talking to, but it still remains quite creepy, or at the very least, unsettling!

- Stuck in space? Well, they're no webbing around, so it isn't the yeti back for revenge . . .

- I kind of love Miss Kelly - she, unlike Miss Garrett, can think OUTSIDE her box! & it's leading to something quite useful, isn't it?
- The Ice Warriors are just hideous - like overgrown reptiles that learnt to walk like humans.
- O! Look at Two, Jamie & Zoe go! & please Miss Kelly - don't doubt Jamie's abilities. He's far more experienced than most people might think.
- & yes, I heart Miss Kelly. She's pretty awesome so far!
- Fashion note number five: Zoe appears to have changed her outfit between serials. WITH LACES ON!

- I'd also like to note that there are some lovely optical effects during the preparation of the rocket for take-off. Visually, they're quite interesting!

- Jamie is definitely one of the few sorts that I can think of that would crawl through maintenance tunnels IN A KILT, bare knees & all. Having had to crawl through a tunnel or two myself in trousers, I've got to admire that about him. ::hugs Jamie::

Now THAT was an exciting serial, I must say! It was a six-parter & never once did it feel like it was dragging or getting repetitive or dull - lots of action & awesome & oooo, I just loved it! SO GOOD. & Gia Kelly is TOTALLY an unofficial girl of Who - she's another character that would have been absolutely splendid in the TARDIS, I think. Too bad she couldn't have at least SEEN it!
& OMG JAMIE. ::flails:: He was crazy brave & well - as wonderful as ever, pretty much! & he saved Two at the very end & helped him stop the Ice Warriors, all while wearing one fab outfit! & walking through foam. ::nods::
Since I'm so close to - well, certain things . . . watching just Two & Jamie working together like that . . . well, it felt very much like old times, in ways.
& now, our final serial for the week, which combines the old favourite mixup of listening to the audio of, then watching the serial of The Space Pirates.
The Space Pirates - audio & serial
- This is another Robert Holmes story & if I remember right, the serial portion of it is the earliest work of his on Doctor Who that I'd ever seen before.
- Hmm. Criminals prowling around in space attacking cargo ships . . . sounds a bit like a space Western to me! ::beams::
- 'Deep space sickness' . . . so there is such a form of space dementia, but it takes a more physical attack. Hmmm.
- O, hello Doctor & all! Though I don't think you've all picked the best section of the beacon to land in . . .
- Aww, ever the pragmatist, our Jamie. ::blows kiss::
- OI, WHAT'S WITH THE SHOOTING?! SHOOT TO KILL - HOW ABOUT ASKING A QUESTION, THEN GETTING ALL TRIGGER HAPPY, CHRIST!
- O, & while you're chasing innocent darlings about, your pirates are right on your beacon!
- O goodness! Now the ones chasing Two, Jamie & Zoe have been shot by the space pirates! Um . . . a good thing? Well, I mean, at least they can't come after Two & his friends now! But they don't know that & that fact still has them trapped!
- Uh-oh, I think I'm beginning to connect how the opening of the second serial happened now . . .
- The door's been welded shut? Then - then when the charges go off, the TARDIS is going to end up floating off before Two, Jamie & Zoe can get to it!
- Moving into the only surviving serial for the second story . . . the beacon's just separated & Two, Jamie & Zoe are flying around their bit of the beacon!

- Yes, Milo Clancy is very space Western-esque - I think he would have fit in well in an episode of Firefly.
- LOLZ, ZOE APPEARS TO BE GROPING TWO. & Jamie's got his hand on Two's thigh - I'm sorry, my mind is very wrong when I watch this serial. ::giggle::
- Random fashion note two: I adore Zoe's hot pants & jacket! & Pat's sideburns don't seem to be as wild as they were in The Seeds of Death, happily!
- MIND PROBE WHAT? NOOOO, NOT THE MIND PROBE!

- Zoe has DAMN good arms. Yes, this bears repeating.
- & now not only are they running out of air, but they're just floating much further out into space now!
- TWO'S HEAD IS IN JAMIE'S LAP RIGHT NOW. & they're all still sharing oxygen. & no, it will not stop being funny, especially now.

- Moving back into audio for the third part, just after Milo Clancy just shot Jamie . . . ::growls::

- Also, he's grasped the concept of Two & his companions travelling in space AND time very fast! Usually it takes people until the end of a serial to even believe such a thing!
- HEY! Don't you regulate miss Zoe Heriot to the kitchen, mister! She'd be able to rewire your ship AND blow up those military ships on your tail in under a minute! ::glares:: Make a pot of tea. HUMPH!

- It's a little hard to reserve all my judgement on Milo until the end of the serial - with the exception of the above, I like him so far! But I know, first impressions can be deceiving & all.
- HAHA, ZOE'S MATHEMATICAL SKILLS WORKED OUT WHERE THE BITS OF THE BEACON ARE HEADED! ::tacklehugs her:: This girl is awesome. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.

- Earlier this week, nentari & I were talking & I mentioned that I'm more of a space Western kind of girl & she asked if I was just thinking of Firefly or this serial as well. I said I thought of both & Cowboy Bebop, & now, as I'm listening to it, I'd say that this serial definitely falls into the category of being a space Western.
- O no! They've been found! RUN, RUN!
- DISAPPEARING GROUND WTF?!
- O, well, they landed on a FLOOR at least, but it sounds like it was a painful landing!
- Jamie, please don't have hurt yourself when you landed!
- Two's awfully sure of himself about there being a second door in the prison cell. But he has a very logical point! There is another door there, he just needs to find it.

- . . . Madeline is in league with the pirates? Okay, yes, I wasn't fully sure on her, but I didn't exactly suspect her either!
- Zoe doesn't know how candles work? Zoe, I DID think you knew such things!
- WTF WHO PUT AN OLD MAN IN THE STUDY?!
- Despite being in league with pirates, Madeline seems to have retained her sense of morals & humanity, if not a stronger temperance of her greed.
- . . . the old man is Madeline's father? . . . what did she do to him? Maybe she hasn't retained her morals & her humanity as much as I thought she did.
- But nevertheless . . . Madeline wants to fight back. I feel rather confused about her now . . .
- Madeline didn't know her father was alive? O my goodness . . . o, poor Madeline.
- 'Jamie, sometimes I don't think you appreciate all I do for you.'
AWW. He does, Two, I promise!
- The Second Doctor, ladies & gentlemen - he can whip up a plan with just a bit of candle wax & a bag of marbles. ::beams::
- O NO. NO. Two, you have to be okay, you just HAVE to be!
- JAMIE! ::swoons:: You never run out of bravery, do you?
- Madeline just narrowly managed to pwn space pirates. Not bad!
- FTW! Space pirates have been blown up!
- O, goodness, the TARDIS! I'd forgot all about it myself!
- But Milo'll help them get it back - & it'll be fab. ::smiles::

The first time I watched the only surviving serial of this, I felt that it dragged, considerably. & I'd read before that it wasn't one of the most highly regarded serials of Two's era, despite it being his next to last one. But this time, I wanted to keep an open mind about this & since I did, I found that I enjoyed this story much more than I'd expected! I suppose it was once I connected all the pieces that I could fully enjoy it. My only whine is that I felt that the end serial did drag a bit, to the point where I was losing a bit of interest. But I admit, I was doing something else at the time & so I wasn't really as focused as I should have been, perhaps. But there were bits of it that I liked. I just felt like it was running over-long for me.
& the ending . . . the ending was good. It ended with laughter, & Jamie's sweet witticisms. Which makes what's to come even more saddening. But it was good that this ended well - if it had ended sadly, it would have been worse in the end. So while this ending, as nice as it was, was bittersweet for me, I don't think I'd like to have it any other way.
& that was the last three major serials of this part of the great & mighty Troughton rewatch-athon! I'll be back next week with The War Games.
