OKAY GUYS IT'S STORY TIME
Okay so about an hour ago, me and mum went to take a walk around the park with the mutt. We hadn't even gotten halfway when this pup comes into sight. She wasn't much bigger than Atra, and Atra's smaller than both her parents (standard poodle and chocolate lab). Adorable little brindled pitbull cross, just wandering vaguely and sniffing at everyone who went by.
So she's very obviously lost, and there's no number on her collar to call, but she does have her registration tag. We got her on the leash and mum started a long series of calls before finally getting to someone who would contact the owners and have them call her. Also her name was Nita aww.
The dog's "mum" calls shortly after, and apparently she's been missing since midnight the night before. From the next city over. Granted, there's no space between the cities, but it's still a hell of a trip for a dog, especially a pup. We took her home to get her some food and water, since she hadn't eaten since then, presumably. The owners showed up not even ten minutes ago and were so happy. The woman looked absolutely exhausted, too, and mum said she'd sounded like she was nearly in tears on the phone.
Oh, to add to it all, today is Nita's birthday. I think that's a good present.
