The Homecoming Queen

The tables have been set
The red carpet rolled out
Let the trumpets roar
For this homecoming feast is for you
Your arrival has been longed for
Everything's been prepared
The wine is poured and the boar has been slain
You're mine again and I'm begging for more
Listen as the orchestra sounds
You're received like the victorious general after the war
This ballroom is ours tonight
Follow me out the door to the balcony
Where your porcelain skin shimmers in the moonlight
Hold me close I've longed for this
A kiss held deep tells of your deceipt
As this moment of lust has turned to mistrust
I can taste him on your lips
I can smell him on your gown
"Take her to the gallows at dawn!"
Was it worth it for one night on the town?
As the sunrise breaks the blackened sky
Her body sags, the lifeless bride
Murdered out of pride.
