Thesis is turned in. Last night we celebrated with takeout and chocolate ice cream. The Kids didn't quite get the significance, but what child needs a reason for chocolate? I had planned to do a little binge drinking, but practically passed out after the first gin & tonic. Still, it was good. I think I'm just getting too old to party too hard. I was out before The Daily Show.
Today I have no classes. Once I get The Kids off to school I plan to go back to bed. If I get a burst of ambition I will start to clean up all these stacks of books and notes that have taken over the bedroom and living room floors. Then again, there is always tomorrow.
I should also call A (of The Love Borg) and congratulate her on her pregnancy. You really can find anything on craigslist. She called Tuesday to tell me about it, but I was too preoccupied with work and I gave her a little "you called me for this?" attitude. I tried to fix it by seeming sincerely interested, but I don't think I quite pulled it off. This thesis has really sucked up about all of my attention. Well, that is done for now, and I can once again return to the world of the living.
When did I learn to type without looking? Also odd: I can type for pages without looking at the keyboard until I become aware that I am not looking, then I seem to lose my place. Enough of that for now though. I have sat in front of this keyboard for too long. I am going to turn this computer off and walk away for a little while.
