Holy Crap!
Ok, so Monday morning I'm off to Shropshire for this comics workshop week I won a place on. This course will take you behind the decisions involved in the creation of a graphic novel and the underlying storytelling techniques that inform the reading experience. Students will produce an outline for a graphic novel, along with sample pages of script and dummy roughs of art for selected pages using simple drawing techniques. But thanks to the change of address back in September I only just found out who the tutors are by email:

Bryan Bloody Talbot!!! "The Tail of One Bad Rat" is one of my ALL-TIME favorite comics! I always got it from the library though and right now I'm kicking myself for never buying a copy because I could of got him to sign it!
Oh, and the guest speaker is Posy Simmonds! Pix will kill me because one of her favorites is "Gemma Bovary" and I have some very fond memories of her reading it to me when I got flu!
Hopefully they won't mind me using the graphic novel I'm doing for uni as the work for them to look at. It's not like I've done too much yet (perhaps an unexpected perk of chronic procrastination!) The happy monkey dance nor the happy-happy-joy-joy song just don't even begin to express my excitement!!! I really hope I don't turn into the idiot fan-girl of the group... as far as I know, there's only 3 other stundents.
