The Tacitus, newly rechristened, is a small refurbished military vessel. Nothing fancy, a little battered around the edges, not the best racing ship ever, but steady and reliable.
And still decorated with the previous owners' taste, which runs to serviceable khaki and metal with occasional bits of unfortunate upholstery.
That's a low priority, however. What's a high priority is getting to Aberdeen swiftly, and without drawing undue attention. Luckily, Aberdeen and its handful of small moons have enough industry to get a decent amount of traffic -- but not so much that it's dangerous to use autopilot.
Which is good. Because autopilot lets you do other things while it's set. Like, say, prep work for a very fast and very unofficial investigation.
