Well Sarah got me to take an online personality test today.
According to www.colorquiz.com I:
--------
Your Existing Situation
Seeks a close and understanding bond in an atmosphere of shared intimacy, as a protection against anxiety and conflict.
Your Stress Sources
The existing situation is disagreeable. Feels lonely and uncertain as he has an unsatisfied need to ally himself with others whose standards are as high as his own, and wants to stand out from the rank and file. This sense of isolation magnifies the need into a compelling urge, all the more upsetting to his self-sufficiency because of the restraint he normally imposes on himself. Since he wants to demonstrate the unique quality of his own character, he tries to suppress this need for others and affects an attitude of unconcerned self-reliance to conceal his fear of inadequacy, treating those who criticize his behavior with contempt. However, beneath this assumption of indifference he really longs for the approval and esteem of others.
Your Restrained Characteristics
Circumstances are restrictive and hampering, forcing him to forgo all joys and pleasures for the time being.
Your Desired Objective
Needs a peaceful environment. Wants release from stress, and freedom from conflicts or disagreement. Takes pains to control the situation and its problems by proceeding cautiously. Has sensitivity of feeling and a fine eye for detail.
Your Actual Problem
Disappointment at the non-fulfillment of his hopes and the fear that to formulate fresh goals will only lead to further setbacks have resulted in considerable anxiety. He is trying to escape from this into a peaceful and harmonious relationship, protecting him from dissatisfaction and lack of appreciation.
Your Actual Problem #2
Wants to be valued and respected, and seeks this from a close and peaceful association of mutual esteem.

Hrm. Some of that is right on. Some of it realllly isn't. Apparently I'm much more insecure and stressed out then I let on.
It's a good thing I have that whole "attitude of unconcerned self-reliance" to fall back on and that I "treat those who criticize his behavior with contempt" to balance it out. Ask anyone who knows me, they'll tell you it's true. If they don't the contempt will never stop. Ever. lol
Tests like this interest me. Why do we spend so much time trying to get other people to tell us who we are?
True, those close to us can give great and valuable insight into our core character. They can tell us, from a different perspective, what they see when they look at us. They can even, not so much "reveal", but rather put a label/face/name to things that we weren't aware of about ourselves.
These past few months I've been learning a lot about who I am. Some of it has come from friends, some from family, most of it has come from God though. I appreciate that.
I love the fact that I have a God who not only cares about this universe He keeps in motion but who also cares with the same level of genuine interest where I left my keys and why I'm thinking about/stressing over/frustrated with... whatever the flavor of the day is. He cares enough to listen. He cares enough to want me to be better then who I am right now.
He cares about me where I'm at and where I'm at doesn't change how cool He thinks I am.
I don't have to be perfect before I can get acceptance. I don't even have to be trying to be "better" to be accepted. Heck, I'm not even "accepted" by God, it's so far beyond that. I'm liked by Him.
God likes me.
In the end, aren't we all just looking for someone who likes us to tell us who we are?
