If you look at the date, you'll notice it's June 22nd! What does this mean? Check out the Calendar!

From today until the 28th(next Sunday), a new set of arrivals will be wandering the island. What are they, you might ask? Things from your characters canon home. What things? MONSTERS. For example, Yoma from the Claymore world, maybe Chimera from ( Read more... )

I'm giving a separate comment for Heartless/Nobodies, so bear with me here fff.

Hollows. >D

And for the sake of people actually being able to beat them, lets leave the Vasto Lordes out, because without a full-power Ichigo, everyone would probably die, idefk.

Buuuut in case you don't feel like reading all that teal deer shit, here:

Hollows

Hollows are former Pluses (deceased human souls) that lose their hearts to despair or remain in the real world for too long. In the anime, nonhuman spirits can also transform into Hollows. Any spirit that is not guided to the Soul Society by a Shinigami via Soul Burial may eventually descend into a Hollow. Their faces are usually covered in masks (always white and skull-like), and their bodies are large, bulky, and more than likely some form of an animal. They also scream. Very creepily. And loudly. And like to chase little girls with yummy souls. So if you have a yummy human-esque soul, watch out. They will come after you ( ... )

→ Cero - Literally meaning "zero", a Cero is a high-powered, normally red-colored, energy blast that can be fired from various body parts; in the Menos' case, they fire it from their mouths. The Cero requires some time to be used effectively, so the enemy must be either not moving or busy with something else, or too badly wounded to even simply dodge it, with the exception of a few Cero techniques and users. Only Menos, Arrancar, and Vizard have so far been shown to use Cero attacks, and it appears that stronger entities can use it more efficiently and forcefully.

→ Garganta - Literally meaning "throat", this is how Hollows and Arrancar move to and from Hueco Mundo. It literally tears open the dimensional fabric separating the worlds, revealing a tunnel of whirling, torrential energy that must be focused and solidified to create a discernible pathway.

→ Negación - Literally meaning "negation" - These fields are used to rescue fellow Hollows. Only the Gillian-class Menos have shown the ability to use it. Espada have a special cube- ( ... )

Shouldn't the Garnet's power-dampening affect the monsters, too, especially now that it's complete?

rivelatamods June 22 2009, 06:37:18 UTC
Nope, the Garnet will not effect them at all.

Is it safe to assume we'll find out why at some point?

Can we have giant preying mantises? Please say we can have giant preying mantises.

They're genetically modified freaks of nature made by an Amish dude and his steroid-enhanced daughter on an island farm just off the coast from Gotham, totally not even kidding. ANY OTHER FARM ANIMALS are also canon.

They wreak dumb-animal havoc and are mostly just here to eat. If you have a thatched roof you might be screwed, just saying. But they're not especially powerful or intelligent or anything other than a TEN-FOOT-TALL PREYING MANTIS. Or maybe a two-story bull.

And yes, I know insects are not farm animals but apparently the Amish dude did not. Look I just play this canon, I don't actually make it up.

SHADOWS (Of the Persona fandoms)

Shadows are created from the human subconscious. This is stressed more in Persona 4, so I'll use that more of a basis.

Minor Shadows were created as mentioned above, and can appear as many different things, such as animated tables, statues, and even toys. Each Shadow has individual strengths and weaknesses, and if you manage to hit one with it's weakness, it will be knocked down for a little while. This affect typically goes for the person in battle with the Shadow, as well-- if it manages to hit them with their weakness, they will be knocked down. All Shadows are violent, and will pursue to attack once someone is in sight.

There is then the matter of Shadows that have taken the form of a person, portraying the hidden thoughts of said person. It typically takes the form of the host, but warps and fuses with other elements to form a (typically huge) Shadow-version of the victim. More info here.
