(
Let's Start A Revolution. )
It was partly for secrecy, and partly to see if he had managed to grow strong enough to do so. He left his house himself, but after passing down a hidden side street (and keeping an eye out for any cats - where once he'd been fond of the animals, now he was suspicious of any and all felines), he shifted his shape to that of a young street rat, brown haired, brown eyed, and wearing scruffy clothes. Another side-street and he emerged a gentleman in a top-hat and evening cape, much taller, hair cropped short; another and a surly sailor.
The street before the house, he inched along the walls, matching himself to their color and texture like a chameleon, blurring his shape. True invisibility he hadn't quite managed yet, but that would come in time. He watched Mr. Kent knock, and after he was admitted, waited a few moments before coming to the door.
Pausing in the shadows nearby, he changed his appearance one more time, this time simply to an unidentifiable figure in a long black cloak, with a face completely hidden by shadow.
He knocked on the door as had been suggested by the notice. In his own voice he said, "It is I; good evening to you."
