Weeks into planning an escape from the island Ranmaru was greeted that morning by the sight of a familiar face, that of his lord; Nobunaga had appeared on the pages of his journal.
Instant relief was what the young teen felt at first. His lord was here, free of Japan and out of Mitsuhide's reach. He had to be warned, to learn of Mitsuhide's treachery.
Ranmaru fixed his sword to his belt and snatched up his journal from the floor. In moments he had pulled on the black calve-half boots that this country favoured and was racing down towards the dock lands.
