WHAT: Aerith wants to find Zack and Leon offered to go with, and thus the quest is joined. So they're off to find one lost Zack.
WHERE: Docks, then to the forest.

It was a good dream, he decided. Nothing too special, just an open field near a pond. He wasn't really doing anything in his dream, either; just wandering around and watching the occasional bumblebee flitter about from flower to flower. But at least it wasn't a bad dream, the type that caused one to move about too much in their sleep. Zack would've ended up falling out of the tree.

The hauling-ass-up-to-the-highest-tree-branch seemed like a good idea at the time, perhaps to keep watch for the ones looking for him. It did, however, end up becoming a lot more boring than travelling the forest on foot. Leaning against the trunk of the tree, the SOLDIER had told himself he was only going to shut his eyes for a few moments . . .

And that was when the dream started. Halfway through, Zack heard a voice, her voice, and in the dream he whirled around in the field - careful not to step on any flowers - to try and see where that voice was coming from. A light smile crept up on his lips as he dozed. Her voice was so pretty.

He looked up in the tree and it seemed as if Zack was sleeping in the tree. Well, it was nice to know that he wasn't in any immediate danger. Leon glanced at Aerith who was staring up as well, trying to grab the dark haired man's attention.

Aerith frowned when Zack didn't respond. It seemed he was asleep, but in a tree, of all places? She wasn't sure she could doze like that but she wasn't used to or all that comfortable with heights so that would likely explain why. Unsure he to wake him, she looked back to Leon and shrugged before stepping closer to the tree and trying again.

"Zack!" She repeated, starting to wonder if she'd have to lob something at him. An idea she didn't like since it would probably hurt him, so she had to hope calling enough would do something. "Wake up, Zack!"

[ooc: Aw Leon I shall sure try to avoid that. XD]

Both the continuing calling of his name as well as the sudden ache caused by several hours of sleeping in a tree that was bound to show up eventually were enough to bring Zack from his sleep, although not very happily. Her voice, as far as he was concerned, was only in his dream, so having to wake up and realize she wouldn't be there yet wouldn't be pleasant.

Sighing, bright blue eyes opened only halfway as he shifted forward a little, scratching at the back of his head as he looked around - in completely the wrong direction from the two on the ground he was supposed to be looking for - and wondered who the heck was calling him.

To Leon, Zack seemed like an easygoing guy. He was a bit envious of that. Leon would never have that quality. He waited patiently for him to realize that they were down below. "Is he always like this?" he asked Aerith.

Aerith looked away from Zack, who'd finally woken up, to regard Leon for a moment. "He does seem to wake up confused..." Not an expert on the dark-haired fellow there wasn't a lot she could say about what he was usually like. "At least when I met him he did." She added.

Looking back at Zack perched in the tree, she sighed. "Wrong way, Zack!" She called again, extending an arm to wave and hopefully get him to look the right way.

He didn't see anyone at first, and for a moment Zack thought he was still dreaming when he heard her voice. He'd almost forgotten that she was even looking for him, but then her voice was calling to him again, so it couldn't be a dream now.

Startled, Zack had whirled around a little too fast to maintain his balance on the tree branch like that, and he would've toppled over had he not quickly grabbed a hold of the nearest branch. While he usually was more of the type to show off, being clumsy seemed to come natural when she was there.

"Aerith! Hi!" he answered, wearing a wide grin and holding himself up on the branch with one hand to wave enthusiastically with the other. "I'll, uh, be right down!"

Leon shook his head at the dark haired man nearly falling out of the tree. He didn't think that he would be that clumsy. He tried to remember who Zack reminded him of..maybe Sora? He could see some of the similarities between Sora and Zack.

He watched the interaction between Aerith and Zack, and he couldn't help but feel a bit of an outsider. Although she did look and act like his Aerith, she had a past completely different from the one his Aerith had. That fact right there was a bit unnerving for the brunette.

Aerith was relieved that Zack didn't have a most unpleasant fall, worry nearly melting into laughter as he waved at her. She lifted a hand to wave back, wondering if Zack was always like that. Since she hadn't been around him that much she could only guess at it.

"Be careful!" She figured he would be alright but after Leon had helped her actually find Zack, she really didn't want anyone to get hurt. Considering how people were about the jungle she had to wonder if the trees weren't a threat too...but that was silly.

He'd been in somewhat of a slump ever since arriving in this strange world; he really didn't handle being lonely too well. Not that Zack hadn't been on solo missions before, sometimes in unfamiliar settings, but that was obviously different than this situation. He'd never even seen a tree like this before. But just hearing her voice again, and she was concerned for him too . . . maybe this was heaven. A very warped heaven

Leon kept his distance and allowed them to have their reunion. He was definitely an outsider, and he really had no reason to include himself. He was just the bodyguard for Aerith (whom he had issues within himself because he was conflicted about the Aerith he grew up with). His eyes stayed glued to them, and watched as they reunited.

Aerith was relieved when Zack made it down in one piece, ever the better that non creatures leapt out of nowhere to cause trouble either. It looked like Zack was completely unharmed and she was certianly glad for that; after what everyone had been saying about the jungle and then getting a small sample of the dangers it offered she'd been more than a little concerned.

She smiled up at him, happy that he wasn't by himself and not knowing where he was anymore. That and she had the feeling that Zack's smiles were a bit on the contagious side. "Yes, thanks to Leon it wasn't too hard to find you at all."

The words said she looked at the quiet fellow, a little surprised that he just seemed to be observing them, but then what else was there to watch... "Thank you so much for your help." Leon seemed like a very nice person and she was glad to have encountered someone like that so early on after arriving in this place. Without him, she might not have located Zack at all.

Though he was able to restrain himself from scooping the girl of his dreams up and spinning around just because he missed her so much, Zack had to do something other than just stand there. Give her a hug? He really wanted to - he really wanted to - but since she did just technically come from the beginning of their first official date, maybe that would've been a bit much.

But if he couldn't hug her, then he could at least hold her hand. Which he did, not too tight but he really was glad to see Aerith again, so it was probably one of those don't know your own strength moments.

He didn't forget about the other person in the vicinity, because Aerith might not have been here if she wasn't protected by someone. "Yeah, thanks for watchin' over her!" Zack added to Aerith's comment, waving friendly at Leon. "I owe you one."

Leon's eyes rested dully on Zack holding Aerith's hand. It reminded him of when Aerith would grab his hand and hold it, to bring his attention to something else. He pulled out of his reverie when he heard Zack's voice.

"It was nothing," he replied nonchalant. He supposed this is where they would part ways. Aerith was reunited with Zack, and all was well.

"Helping others isn't nothing..." Aerith murmured, not wanting Leon's kindness to simply be discounted. At the same time she wasn't terribly assertive with new people - in person especially it seemed - so it was all she managed.

Her gaze dropped down to Zack's hand holding hers for a moment and she reminded herself they weren't from exactly the same time. It was still unusual for her but there was some comfort in it.

She looked back to Leon and wished her presence wasn't likely a reminder of something missing, but she couldn't change it. "I may have had a lot of trouble without you."
