WHO: Ba'ast [piratebaast] and Edward [ohshitnotmilk] WHAT: A reunion of old lovers, although ... one isn't quite aware of that fact. WHERE: The beach. WHEN: Tonight.
He was tired. So far past sick of this island that he didn’t know what to do with himself. He could hardly ever keep his thoughts straight, could rarely get any peace and quiet between Al and Ling(And that stupid dragon that had followed him around for a month). Something that kept tugging at his mind was Al. He was here, sure, but this wasn’t the Al he knew. The Al he knew was still at home, still stuck god knows where in that unforgiving suit of armour and he was stuck here.
Useless. Unable to do anything. Unable to even push at the walls that confined him because his Alchemy could hardly do anything.
And then Hohenheim had the nerve -- the nerve of that stupid bastardly excuse of a Father -- to show up. He didn’t care, wouldn’t listen, for the fact that Hohenheim probably had no say in showing up here. He was still here, stilling weaving in and out as he chose, of his life and it infuriated Ed. And then Al -- going to actually find him, and Ed dreaded the fact that Hohenheim would be under his roof. It made him sick to his

Ew. A little short. SRY BBpiratebaastMarch 8 2010, 04:37:04 UTC
Ba'ast sat up and turned toward the sound of the scream and jumped slightly at the explosion-- only to have to brace herself from chunks of what she could only assume was rock hurtling through the air. "Hey, you stupid fucking dumbass!" She shouted, pushing herself to her feet. The anger was rising-- Quickly. "Watch what the fuck you're doing! I'll beat your ass!" Sure enough, as she threatened the stranger in the distance, her fingertips began to heat up, and she had already started to think of ways to charbroil their corpse.
Slowly, probably, while they were still alive. Maybe she'd skin them for extra measure. Gods above, she was so pissed.
This was her alone time. She didn't care for company, and wouldn't have it.
He turned his head to look over his shoulders when he heard a woman yelling at him, narrowing his eyes. Just what he needed. First his Father, now this. As if he needed some woman trying to pick a fight with him. His hands curled into fists, so tight his flesh hands knuckles were beginning to turn white -- and stuffed them into his pocket.
“Maybe you should watch where the fuck you’re laying around!” He hollared, his tone of voice practically drowning in anger. He didn’t care for this. He didn’t need to get into a fight with some irritable woman he didn’t even know.
He tilted his head back with a small snort of irritation before he turned to walk away. He kicked at one of the rocks at his feet with his left foot, watching it stumble across the sand as he muttered quiet curses.
That voice ... was too familiar for her liking. She was frozen in hr spot for a moment, at least until he turned to walk away. Hurried footsteps carried her forward in an attempt to catch up, though she wasn't entirely sure why she flt compelled at all to approach. A voice alone shouldn't have been enough to catch most of her interest-- Perhaps it hit a little too close to home. A little familiarity went a long way.
"Hey! Hey! Wait a second-- Don't walk the hell away from me!" She hated that shit. What the hell was so hard about standing your ground? "Listen-- You sound familiar--" Wait. "And don't fucking talk to me like that!" She spared a moment to brush her hair from her face, though the breeze neglected to cooperate.
In one last attempt to stop the stranger in his steps, she pulled the water from the shore and stretched it into a wall in front him. With her arms outstretched, she watched him through clouded vision.
Okay, with the fact that he’d been here for a couple months now, the giant wave of water wasn’t too surprising so much as startling. His eyes flew wide and he stepped back and in seconds his eyes had narrowed again. Ed turned to face her, slowly, pulling his hands from his pockets and stretching out his fingers.
Was she trying to pick a fight? Because he honestly wasn’t in the damn mood. He wanted to be left to his own business and not have some woman he didn’t even know chasing him down for almost hitting her(when he hadn’t even seen her) when he deconstructed something.
As he turned to face her, Ba'ast raised a hand to brush the hair and water from her face, allowing the wall of water to crash to the ground.
What did she want?
She raised her gaze from a lone, flapping fish on the sand to look at him, and as she did, her heart nearly skipped a beat. Even in this diminishing light, she could recognize the details-- the colours, the contours of his face, everything. "Edward?" She barely managed to choke his name out and smiled faintly as she stepped toward him. She didn't notice the subtle differences-- she didn't care to.
Slowly, she reached out to brush her fingertips through his bangs, blinking her tears away as she looked him over. Suddenly, though, the happiness she felt turned to anger, and then hurt. She pulled her hand away only to make an attempt to slap him clear across the face, but she couldn't bring herself to make contact. Instead, she brushed her fingertips against his cheek.
[ooc; THIS MIGHT SUCK I wasn't quite sure how he'd react to that sob]
He probably should have just stormed off when he had the chance; the second that water was gone. Because he didn’t know this woman; he was irritated, he was angry. What did this strange... meeting(did it even count as that?) matter to him right now?
Ed whipped his head around when he heard the crashing sound of the water splashing down to the sand. Slowly, he lifted his head again to look back over at Ba’ast with a heavy frown and a look in his eyes that almost dared her to make his night worse when she said his name. Before he could even react, though, she was already touching his hair and -- god, what the hell was going on?
His automail hand fisted together and he narrowed his eyes, taking a step back away from her. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?! Who the hell are you?!”
The moment he took a step back, Ba'ast should have known something was wrong, but she was a little too hopelessly optimistic. Even as he spoke, his words didn't quite set in. Instead, they lingered in her head like a foggy haze, meaningless and empty. Only after a moment of staring did they hit like a ton of bricks, nearly knocking the wind out of her.
"D-don't be ridiculous, Edward," She managed, stuttering slightly and forcing an uneasy smile. A shaky sigh fled her parted lips as Ba'ast averted her gaze and attempted to collect the composure she felt crumbling away at the edges, but it didn't seem to work. She could feel her hands starting to shake and the tears-- the tears--
Finally, she turned a wide-eyed gaze to him, reaching for his hands. "...This isn't funny. Please don't do this."

What a great day.
