BTW, probably a bad idea that he's trying to control this. >>totaldrama_kingDecember 22 2009, 02:57:55 UTC
Tamaki cleared his throat loudly, trying to gain anyone's attention that was around him. "Everyone!" He waved, hoping it would be more effective.
"Okay! I wrote down all the songs I remembered from when I learned of Christmas. Commoners enjoy walking around in groups and carolling to any listeners. I know some do it for money but I think we should just do it for celebration!" He spoke as if he was the expert of Christmas knowledge. "Is there anyone here who does not know any of the Christmas songs? I will lend you the sheet if you need it!" He asked.
Haruhi attempting to sing is probably a bad idea too.reallyiamagirlDecember 22 2009, 03:43:24 UTC
"People don't do it for money..." Haruhi grumbled from the cushion she was sitting on. She rolled her eyes as her senpai rambled on.
Haruhi looked around her. Everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves, most of them feeling the effects of the alcohol, and some of them just simply enjoying the company. She couldn't help but smile at the sight.
Tamaki stared at his arm after the pillow hit it, then glancing up to Rei and Haruhi. "Well, Haruhi showed me some stuff but most of the Christmas stuff, I learned from my mother, maids and others I've just talked to." He stated in a proud manner.
"A favorite of mine has always been 'Silent Night', though I enjoy 'Joy to the World' and 'Carol of the Bells', although I don't know the words to the latter." Tamaki said, thinking for a moment.
Haruhi, I hope you're wearing steel plated underwear.sei_whatDecember 22 2009, 05:44:44 UTC
Well, to say Sei was sauced by this point was... sort of an understatement. However, she was managing to at least sound coherent and not like she'd had a few too many glasses of wine... and probably a bit of that punch too. By this point, it was spiked.
And she'd done it, but she wasn't about to tell anyone else that.
"Carol of the Bells," she said slowly, and only slurred a liiiiittle bit. "Mnn, I think it's something like Hark how the bells, sweet silver bells, all seem to say, throw cares away..." She paused for a long moment, trying to will her fuzzy, spinning mind back onto a coherent train of thought. "Something something something... Ding dong ding dong, That is their song... er..." She leaned against a wall. Hmm, balance was a little off. "Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas, Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas... Ding dong ding dong."
She paused. "'least 'm pretty sure that's how it goes."
Haruhi tried to stifle a laugh, but was unsuccessful. She fell backwards onto a few pillows, clutching her stomach. Sei's rendition of "Carol of the Bells" was a bit off, but it was a riot, slurred voice and all. And she noticed her balance was a bit off too. Yup, the girl was under the influence.
She took a sip from her cup. She'd been drinking the punch all night, and barely noticed that there was a slight change in the taste halfway through. She just shrugged it off to all the food she ate. And her steadily growing lack of inhibition? Just getting comfortable.
When she calmed down from her laughing fit, Haruhi said to Rei, "That's 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer'!"
It was Sei's turn to burst out laughing. "What version of 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing' do you know, Sacchaaaan?" She walked up to the couch, balance momentarily a bit better than it had been a moment ago, though all she wanted to do was flop down and start laughing.
Instead, she ruffled Sachiko's hair. "Nawww, y-you're all still thinkin' of Rudolph. Mnn, howsabout we include Frosty the Snowman, we all know that one, right?"
Rei's face was a little flushed. She... just hadn't been raised in this sort of atmosphere. She was a Shinto priestess. She'd never even celebrated Christmas until she met Usagi-chan and the others. So of course she didn't know any carols.
She grumbled.
"I dunno' any..." She said quietly, resting her head against Sachiko's.
Haruhi leaned back against the pillows behind her as she continued to sip her punch. She noticed she was beginning to run low. Again. This was some good punch.
"What about 'Jingle Bells'? That's an easy one."
She tugged at Tamaki's sleeve to get his attention. "Hey senpai, are you writing this down?"
Tamaki nodded towards Haruhi. "And I also agree! Jingle bells is fun and simple! There is Deck the Halls too!" He started using his arms slightly to express how joyful some things were, which just made him look like an actor on stage.
"How's it go? 'Deck the halls with bells and holly. Fa lala la la. La la la la. 'Tis the season to be... holly. Fa lala la la. La la la la."
As he tried to remember, he grew uncertain if that was correct.
Rei heard the song before, and she stared up at the ceiling for a moment, wracking her brain to see if she could recall any of the words. Everything was a little hazy at the moment. Even if she had any ounce of sensibility, she wouldn't have remembered much past what Sachiko just sang.
In an pitiful attempt at correcting the debate over the "what song has a red nose in it" discussion, Haruhi decided to sing it. She sat up, and in all of her tone-deaf glory, she began to sing, "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose..."
And that was it. No need to put them through any more torture. She took the last sip of punch that was in her cup and started giggling for no apparent reason. Then she slumped herself on Tamaki's shoulder, wondering why the room felt like it was moving.

"Yeah, anyway. Where did you learn about normal people, Tamaki?"

"No it doesn't. Shh... There's something about a red nose. You can't forget that part. It's the most important part of the song!"
