who: Erza Scarlet [thetitania] and Lluvia Loxar [elementfourplay] what: Dealing with loss. where: Their very sad house. when: Severely backdated; a few days after Lucy's disappearance.
Erza was not as visibly upset as Lluvia was, but the evidence of her distress could be seen in her posture: the rigid, tense way she was sitting. "I've been informed that this...happens. That people leave suddenly without warning. But it's so..." Her teeth clenched, and her fist slammed on the arm of the chair. "So ridiculous!" Any number of things could've happened, she thought suddenly. People could be covering something up...but even that seemed farfetched. Deep down, she knew that it wasn't a lie or an elaborate cover up.
The not knowing was the worst part of it.
After a long silence, she sighed, stood to her feet, and there was an unfurling of smoke as she exquipped into dry clothing. The effort to do so was becoming less taxing, over time. "We've both been out in the rain all day." She put a hand on Lluvia's shoulder, an attempt at comfort.
"A guiding star." Erza smiled, but it was a sad sort of smile. Resigned. "I hope so." The comfort, childlike as it was, did seem to cheer her up a bit.
She made her way into the kitchen and started to go through the cabinets, searching for tea. "I wouldn't mind help. It would be good practice for you too." She located the tea a moment later, and then set out to find the cups. "Have you made any progress with regaining your magic?" This was a safe line of discussion, she felt. It would help to take both their minds off of Lucy's sudden disappearance. It was odd, at home, she didn't normally speak to Lluvia very often...it wasn't that she didn't like the woman, but she just wasn't as close to her as she was with her other nakama. Maybe, while they were stuck together in this place, they could get to know one another a bit better.
"It takes a long time to get abilities back, as I've been informed. However, I think if we began a training regiment...we might be able to help one another."
"They're coming back, slowly. It was impossible to exquip the first couple of weeks." She frowned at the memory. "But over time, it's gotten easier. It's strange, being so weak. It's as if..." she fished for a proper comparison. "We have to learn how to use our magic all over again."
At the mention of the journals, a thought occurred to her: the reminder of her practice in the jungle, and that odd man... "Lluvia, you should be careful of who you speak to about your abilities." She shifted, suddenly uncomfortable. "If someone seems too curious, don't indulge them." But she smiled a little after that, to reassure Lluvia.
"I'm sure with the both of us training together, we'll get back to normal in no time at all. We'll be a team." Her smile widened. "For Fairy Tail."
They are, but don't worry about it! Take your time. c:thetitaniaJanuary 8 2010, 16:35:44 UTC
Erza frowned and went to sit down, crossing her arms in front of her. "There's someone here, a man. He seems to have an unusual interest in other people's abilities, and although he claims he doesn't have any powers --" -- a watchmaker, Gabriel had called himself -- "-- it's a point of concern. His name is Gabriel, but there may be others like him. I know it's a little odd. I'm not used to keeping my powers under wraps either." She frowned and stared down at her hands. "If you have to use your powers for self-defense, then do so, but...try not to tell everyone about them, or don't let on that you're as strong as you are."
She sighed, and then smiled, a little bit. "Good. You got it to boil pretty quickly. That's a good sign." Hmm. Erza wasn't the best at keeping a conversation going at times, but she would try. "Have you made any new friends here?"

"I'll make tea."
