Who: Roy, Ofelia and open to Jason and Donna What: Junior detective is thwarted by older detectives and so now it's time to CELEBRATE! Where: The T-house When: after this log wraps.
It was a more-than-slightly triumphant Roy who swung open the door with the T on top, already grinning down at the ruddy-cheeked girlchild.
"Hey there, little lady. Long time no see." He swept aside to usher her in, out of the cold. They had a fire going this late in the day, and the temperature difference from the entry to the hallway was nothing to sneeze at.
"You got something in your hair, there." This was, of course, a completely transparent excuse to ruffle her hair, only incidentally taking a leaf or two out along the way.
Ofelia tugged at the ruffling hand with a stern face that's kind of failing, because she was trying so hard not to smile. "You should have told me sooner!"
She held tight onto his wrist while they went closer to the fire place. "I tried to help, but nobody would tell me anything! They kept saying that I was just a child and then the boys in town would be stupid and they kept getting in my way!" She was honestly annoyed by that. And babbling just a little. She cut herself off by hugging him. "I'm not leaving you alone anymore."
Roy took that hug and upped it into a whirl, lifting her clear off the ground for at least half the way to the living room. "What! Boys, being stupid? I've never heard of that one." The banter gave him a second to process the rest - lord, she'd been out on the streets for him? He should probably be more worried than gratified -- but that was just too bad. The image was too adorable for words. And besides, she'd come out of it fine.
In lieu of answering this last declaration, Roy just gave her a soft smile and set her down by the comfy chair. "Better shuck your coat, Superkid." he advised. "No good getting cooked."
"Boys are always stupid." Said with all the conviction of little girl who's completely convinced of the ickiness of boys. She pulled off the coat and settled a little more into the chair, making it very clear she wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.
