WHO: Cloud and MAGICAL GIRL UTENA. WHAT: Blondie and Pinkie bond as shiny new co-workers idk. WHERE: Angel's Teacloud. WHEN: Thursday morning/noon ish.
[While Cloud was moping, Utena had in order: swept behind the counters, swept the floor, dusted counters that didn't need to be dusted, knocked a bunch of silverware down, spent fifteen minutes getting it up, and was now glancing out the window with him, though she wasn't sitting still...it seemed to be an impossible thing for her to do.
Instead, she was lunge stretching back and forth. She'd been doing this for quite a while. Cloud's sigh alerted her though, and she glanced over to him.]
Hey, Cloud. D'you think we're gonna get any customers today?
[She blinks, and then sits next to him, mimicking his pose. She sighs. Heavily.]
Hey, how long do you think it's gonna rain? [she leans back in her chair, staring up at the ceiling] What if it rains forever? [She pulls a face.] Ne, Cloud. Do you like the rain?
[It takes him a few minutes to notice she's mimicking his position. When he does notice, though, a slight quirk of his eyebrow seems to indicate he's a little curious about her behavior.]
It won't rain forever... [He has to pause a moment to collect his thoughts and answer her last question.] Sort of.
[Cloud had, unsurprisingly, never heard of Ohtori before. He was vaguely familiar with the name Japan however, though that was only because he'd heard others say the name over the year he had spent within the limits of Rivelata.]
Most worlds have weird things. [Though he didn't mention the garden comment, his eyes seemed to have noticed her expression and movement of her hand.]
[Her eyes widen. She looks pretty awestruck. Maybe he'd been to the real world. Maybe this was the real world...but without Himemiya it was pointless. She wonders...]
Which one do you like the most? How many have you been to?
[Her eyes are like. As wide as saucers. This is blowing her mind.]
Santa is real? You've actually met him? [Some part of her thinks this is the dumbest thing ever, but Cloud is so serious...and he doesn't seem to be joking at all.]
[When she started talking about how he must have gone on exciting adventures and looking at him in the awestruck way, he just had to sink back into the chair and look off to the side. He never considered his travels as exciting adventures, not with his goal and reason for departure.] ...yeah, exciting, I guess.
[Cloud looks a little surprised at first when the bird appears, but nowhere near the magnitude of Utena. And as she was freaking out further away, the blond was just sighing in an annoyed sort of way.]
What are you doing... [The chocobo makes noises and runs in circles as the rain pours down on her.] Go home, you stupid bird. [She's flapping her little wings and making crying sort of noises, so eventually Cloud groans, murmurs an annoyed "fine", gets up and walks the the door to the patio. The second he opens it, the bird is running inside next to him and shaking her feathers like a dog would shake it's wet fur.]
[Utena shrinks away a little when the bird comes in. What the hell? But Cloud seems to know it...after a while, she stands up and just...stares.]
What is that thing...? Is it a...a giant chicken? [She tilts her head. It doesn't really look like a chicken, but Chu Chu didn't look like a monkey to her either.] Where did it come from?
[Nimbus senses a new friend in the room and waddles over to the girl, fluffing her damp wings and warking loudly. Probably not a very good way to greet someone kind of afraid of her, but it wasn't like a chocobo could understand that. Or even if they could, this one didn't anyway.]
That's Nimbus, and she's harmless. She's a chocobo, which is a big domesticated bird from my world. [There's a small pause, then,] She fell from the sky last Christmas and has been living with me since. I don't know if she still thinks I'm her mother or not...
[Utena is just...quietly absorbing this. The bird...chocobo, moves closer to her, and she takes a step back. And the chocobo takes another step, so she tentatively pats it on the beak.]
Nimbus, huh? Is that some kinda cloud? Oh! [a laugh] I get it! She fell from the sky? Oi, that's so weird...

[He seems like he's struggling for a way to talk about this without seeming like a moron to the girl, but damn it's hard what.]
As far as I know, yeah.

That's amazing! Hey, hey Cloud, have you seen the elves? And the reindeer?
[This excites her so much she can't really sit still, so she gets out of the chair to walk around and stretch.]
You've probably been on all kinds of adventures. [She glances over at him, completely awed.] I bet it's exciting, huh?
