WHO: Alphonse and Edward Elric.
WHAT: Catching up after the nightmares - they needed a nice log, okay?
WHERE: Al's room in the Clinic.
WHEN: Er...midday, sometime? IDEK.
Al had gotten lucky - he knew that. The last time he'd suffered this injury, it had been a lot worse - but he'd also been a suit of armor then, only in danger if something had happened to the bloodseal connecting his soul to the armor. This time, though the damage was limited to a fist-sized hole, he was flesh and blood - and capable of feeling pain. Lots and lots of pain.
The doctors at the Clinic had been surprised when he'd arrived - surprised he wasn't dead, that was. Luckily, the wound seemed to have missed anything immediately fatal, and the blood he'd lost had been replaced as quickly as they could get it into him. Still, blood loss and shock had combined to leave him lightheaded and easily tired - especially in light of the fact that he'd only just healed from his last major injury - so they'd kept him around the Clinic, just for monitoring.
He didn't mind so very much - it was a nice enough place, and he'd always gotten along rather well with the staff. But Ed was at home, suffering the effects of his own nightmare, and Winry still needed someone to talk to, Al was sure, and apparently now Nina was suffering the nightmares, too - though Al still wasn't sure whether that had been your average, run-of-the-mill nightmare, or one of these new ones. She had seemed all right, at least - only shaken and scared. So though he didn't mind much, he was anxious to get back where he belonged. With his family.
Trying to prove that he was well enough to get up and go home - though he wasn't entirely certain he could actually make it home - Al spent most of his time sitting up in bed, reading or scribbling notes or designing new transmutation circles. Which was what he was doing now.
