I looked down, and my shirt's turning red // I'm spinning 'round

WHO: Roy Mustang (bringindaflames), Ling Yao (seekimmortality), and Lily Evans (potionsandcharm).
WHAT: Second nightmare.
WHERE: FMA house, Roy's bedroom.
WHEN: Backlogged to 9/26, Saturday night.

This past week had been a tough one. Ever since that horrible nightmare he had about Ishbal, Roy was on edge. Even with Lily's help in matters, he still questioned his sanity. Everything that had happened felt so real. He felt awful for those people he inadvertently killed. The actions leading to their deaths may have not been caused by his hand directly, but his nightmare was the reason they were dead. Saying sorry just wasn't enough.

He lay down on his bed, hoping for a good night's rest. He was wary of every dream he may have since that incident; praying he wouldn't wake up somewhere where he didn't fall asleep to find a ghastly sight in front of him. So far the first few nights had offered him solace -- no dreams were had. Things seemed to be getting back to normal. Well, as normal as they could get.

Roy stared up at the ceiling before slowly fading into a deep sleep.

---------------

"Havoc!!!"

The sudden ambush was quick. They thought they were done. They thought they had killed that homunculi, Lust. But it wasn't so. They thought they had their guard up when she came back. In one, swift motion Havoc was pierced through his gut. The long, sharp and slender spears seemed to come out of nowhere. They withdrew just as quickly as Roy's subordinate crumpled to the ground. He ran to Havoc's aid.

"Havoc!!!"

In a fit of rage, he grabbed Havoc's gun and quickly fired at Lust. As she was stumbling back, Roy noticed the philosopher's stone hidden in her chest. All he needed to do was take it, and maybe, just maybe he could save Havoc. He made a quick grab and snatched it out of the homunculi's chest, much to her chagrin, and turned his attention back to his bleeding subordinate.

Before Roy could even think about how to use it, Lust grabbed his arm and began fusing the philosopher's stone back into her body. She was quick, and her regenerative powers seemed to be just as quick. With another swift motion, she was able to pierce his own abdomen with her spear-like fingers, withdrawing them quickly and leaving Roy to fall to the ground, blood quickly pooling around his body.

Even through the shock of pain coursing through his body, he was able to hear Lust's words clearly:

"We homunculi are closer to the truth than you humans. You could say that we are the next link in the evolutionary chain... I'm sorry. I hate to kill you -- you were a potential candidate for human sacrifice, but now that you're stuck your neck in this far, I can't let you live."

Roy watched as she plucked his gloves off his hands and shredded them in front of his eyes. He continued to listen to her words.

"Well... there are still a few more mice scurrying about. I suppose I should take care of them too... Enjoy watching your subordinate bleed to death. You'll be joining him soon enough."

That was when she left.

"Lieutenant Havoc! Answer me Havoc! You bastard -- I won't let you die before I do! HAVOC!!!"

---------------

Roy woke up momentarily to notice the dampness in his sheets. He noticed the red pool of blood slowly forming around him, his sheets turning into a bright red, then a dark red color. His body felt numb -- he was losing blood quickly. He reached for his journal that was sitting on his beside table, only succeeding to knock it down to the floor.

The last time this happened, he was able to sear his wounds shut with the luck of having a lighter on hand. Now, he didn't have the means to do so. Even if he could use his alchemy, he didn't have anything that could provide him with fire, or even just a spark.

"Shit..." he mumbled as he slowly faded back into unconsciousness.
