WHO: Euphemia li Britannia (
despisescombat) & Alphonse Elric (
armored_alchemy). Oh, and a guest appearance by Uryuu Ishida (
mercury_sparrow) \o/!
WHAT: Euphie the newcomer gets some much needed help from a rather kind young man.
WHERE: The docks.
WHEN: Not too long after
this.
Blood-caked shoes were abandoned on the wooden dock as two small feet were dipped into the ocean, the gentle waves lapping at ankles, the water around those ankles being tinted a light pink due the to blood spatters, and equally blood-stained and tattered skirts laid out around the pink-haired sixteen-year-old sitting there.
Despite being stuck in a new place, along with the circumstances, Euphemia found herself being rather relieved that there were such kind people around. She couldn't quite understand why Nill had warned her that there were people that weren't very good, as there hadn't been a single harsh word spoken to her since her arrival (except by one woman who was supposedly a native of the island, but she just seemed a little bitter, that was all). She'd been told that Nunnally was there, and safe (which was of upmost importance), as well as that Lelouch had once been there (but she had hope he'd return, he simply had to), she'd been offered a place to stay (but declined in favor of staying with her sister), and she'd been offered help with her small dilemma, as well. All in all, there wasn't a single thing she could say was wrong about Rivelata.
Well, there were two things, actually. The first was the fact that she was away from her home, away from Area 11, and away from the people who needed her the most -- the Japanese. They were relying on her to open up the Special Administrative Zone of Japan for them, and she wasn't there to do it. She remembered talking to Zero in private, asking for his assistance with her endeavor just before the presentation, then waking up on a boat.
Which led to her second issue: the blood. No matter how much she tried to remember, she couldn't recall anything that would lead to her being covered in it. Euphemia had first noticed it when she looked down at herself to see the dark red, and nearly fresh splotches covering her torn and tattered dress, as well as herself. It seemed almost surreal, so there was only a small, very slight reaction, the reality of it all not even hitting her just yet. And what was worse was that it was more than likely not her own blood -- she'd checked all over for any wounds, smearing some of the blood already on her skin as a result -- but that was silly as she felt no pain -- only to find none.
Perhaps it was a good thing she was staying at the docks instead of taking a mini-tour of the island. She was so very grateful that Alphonse had offered to help her out, and as Euphemia swung her legs to splash the water enough to rinse off some of the blood from her shins, she could only hope that he wouldn't be frightened away by the sight of her.
