In the silent hour, I can hear them

Jun 12, 2009 12:26

Who: Ba'ast (piratebaast) and Aly (ttlynotaspy)
What: Pirate hunting for Ce Monde knowledge
Where: Rivelatian pub
When: Late evening/night, backlogged before Egil's prank because I fail that bad

Aly put herself in a fine dress and left, but not before grabbing her personal effects which was in a nondescript bag. She still resided with L and B, but this time, her bag contained a brown-haired wig and makeup. No maid like Lorin would be caught dead in the places Ba'ast was known to frequent. So once she was out of sight, Aly ducked into an alley. She did her mental flop to change her Sight to nightvision and began to change herself. Make applied and various tricks and to any observer, she was just a brunette with hazel eyes.

She made sure the blonde wig she normally wore was safely hidden inside the bag, and the bag stuffed into a dark corner. Hidden in the shadows, she checked her knives and stretched herself. Anyone going into a pub had to be prepared, in Aly's training. A spy without tools to defend herself is dead. She rolled back her shoulders and emerged from the alley.

And so she casually followed her rumors and located the pirate. If anyone could give the spy more knowledge about the outside world and the relevance of the country of Mirande, it would be herself. Gods were no help. Humans? Humans she could have more luck with. So as she opened the door and slipped into the dimly lit room. She allowed her Sight to flip to lie detection and began hunting for the woman known as Ba'ast.

"Lookin' for someone?" A man slurred, trying to slip an arm around her.

Aly gave the man a small smile, and looked down, away, as if ashamed. She looked at him up through her lashes. "I'm sorry, cityman." She murmured, allowing a slight tinge of Offworlder to color her speech. Had to keep that mystique, after all. "Maybe another night I might join you." The spy slid out of his grasp and made her way around the bar, settling herself next to a redhead woman.

Could she take this risk? Alcohol was known to loosen the tongue. "What do you recommend?" She allowed her lashes to flutter at the bartender. "I've finally found myself time, but I can't decide how to celebrate!"

As the man brought out a large leather mug, he gave her a curious look. "Whatcha celebratin'?"

She giggled a little. "Don't you know? There's a new king in town! Might not like how he came in and just claimed the place, but he can't be worse than the old queen, right? Umm, maybe a beer, I think tonight." She'd just have to drink it slowly and keep control.
