[Said from a medium-height perch, doing an eagle-eyed visual sweep with teeny compact binoculars.] Don't hear anything, either. You?

It's almost too quiet. No guards, no alarms. It's like everyone who would normally be watching the place took the night off.
Very lucky... almost too lucky.

Definitely possible that somebody wants to destroy property without killing anybody. Narrows down the motivations nicely too. We need to find out who owns this dump- and whether they gave their people the night off.

[Glances around the scene.]
Whoever did this was a professional. Destroyed absolutely everything without damaging the surrounding area.
[Notices the ash falling.]
Looks like the blast went straight up as well.

[Hops off, lands light.] Nothing we'll find out just standing here, anyway! Feel like asking around?

Honestly? I'm not sure if it'll do any good. This person either has really good connections, or is well liked by all the people. Wouldn't have been able to pull this off otherwise.

...No, almost definitely. This's meant to polarize.

By the way, what's your take on him?

He's impressively closemouthed- for a kid. I can't tell whether it's a defense against being awkward, a fear of being rejected, or that he actually has plans he knows we won't like. If it's the latter you'd think he'd lie about it and give us fake plans to chew on instead, but again that might be assuming a little too much, ah, sophistication.

I'm betting on the latter. He's very good at avoiding answering straight-forward questions. He's also got to have some kind of presence to make sure all his soldiers stay quiet and in line.
... I don't know, I just don't really trust him.

You and ninety percent of the people he talked to. Which is why I'm not impressed. His soldiers might be on loan from Daddy, if he was telling the truth about that.

For some reason I just can't see this kid taking orders from anyone, parent or not. He even hinted that he could possibly defeat the gods by some means...
[pauses for a second]
If it came down to a clash between him and the gods, whose side would you choose? Or would you be on your own side?

Hm. [Shrug.] Their beef isn't mine, so long as they don't use the city for a battleground. The minute they start involving bystanders, though, is the minute I stop being neutral.
