Shilo couldn't stop grinning. It had been far too long since she'd been able to go exploring, and now that it was springtime, the bugs would be out in full force. And she'd never gone hunting with anyone else - this was going to be so cool. She'd even convinced dad that it would be okay. Probably due to Dr. Stein coming along.
Checking her bag to make sure she had her sketchbook and field guide - and her journal, of course - she called a quick goodbye to her father before he could give her the third degree again, and hurried out the door.
