WHO: Lelouch Lamperouge and C.C.
WHAT: Discovering that witches really can float on water.
WHERE: Out to sea, by the ridges.
WHEN: Day 342,

The tsunami had been... harrowing, to say the least. The thought of losing those few he had left had cut him, and rather keenly. He had been letting C.C. drift until now, and hadn't thought much of it-- she had always been, and would always be, he understood, a free spirit, one who would not be bound by his words, but his equal, his partner, his accomplice. It was natural, he supposed, for her to draw away in response to him drawing closer to those not from their world. After all, she had had to clean up the mess of the last time that had happened, and, despite the toll it took on him, it had taken it's toll on her, too. But now, now that everything was falling into chaos-- and not the typical chaos of temporary curses or even attacking plants or animals or whatnot, but true chaos, the chaos of a force of nature unleashed-- he saw the foolishness of letting her go about fully as she pleased.

Not only because he could not be assured of her own safety, were she drifting... but perhaps because she didn't want to drift, but it was the only way she knew how to respond. After all, he had seen this carelessness, this recklessness before, and he could sense what lay beneath it: unhappiness. The witch was an expert of concealing her emotions, and where he could read almost anyone else like an open book so very easily, he could only catch glimpses of her intentions here and there, and he was probably one of the few who could even read her that well. Still, he had made miscalculations in the past because of that, and perhaps he had made a miscalculation again. Only time would tell.

It had been easy enough to procure a boat-- he had been here long enough to have a fairly sizable purse, and though it would take a lot of work to get the house and the pizzeria back in order, it wasn't worth wasting the Geass on the man as he paid for renting the boat, and, settling down in it, using a mixture of the water magics he had learned from Lulu and the emerald he still had on his person to propel himself and the small boat out into the waters, purple eyes scanning the waters for his witch's trademark vibrant green hair. When he found her, he pulled the boat slowly up beside her, watching her carefully, offering nothing, for now, but a word.

"C.C."
