For all the sarcastic and long-winded commentary Kyon typically came up with in his mind for the chaotic world whirling around him, in this moment, as he dashed out of the house, he could only think that one thought, without a hint of anything but panic as he headed after Haruhi to go find Asahina-san. It was broad daylight, thankfully, but still, she had gone out without anyone, and, remembering what had happened to him, knowing it could happen to her, knowing what else could happen to her and how much worse that could be formed a cold, tight knot in his stomach. They couldn't lose another. Not after Agrias, and especially not one of the original SOS, and especially especially not Asahina-san.
"Asahina-san! Asahina-san!"
He called out again and again, straining his lungs with all his might as his legs pumped, sending him flying as fast as he could through the streets in search of the small, vulnerable girl. It didn't take him or the rest of the Brigade long to find her, though before they even knew there was a problem, it was already too late...
