WHO: Kurama and Cho Hakkai.
WHAT: Rivelata's "married couple" celebrates Valentine's Day and their one-year anniversary.
WHERE: Paradise Blossoms.
WHEN: Backdated to Valentine's Day.
He had, in hindsight, perhaps gone a little overboard. He'd woken up early, and in a flex of power he'd been very careful to keep in small waves - why he'd gotten up early, using his powers bit by bit took quite a bit of time - to avoid rousing any of the others with a sudden and unexpected surge in energy, Kurama had filled the entirety of the front room of Paradise Blossoms in a sea of red roses.
Looking around, he considered again the idea that he'd maybe been a little too enthusiastic. There was hardly room to walk without brushing up against petals or leaves - which, of course, Kurama didn't mind, but he'd not thought towards what Hakkai might think. There was no danger of thorns, Kurama had been sure of that, so he supposed that was something, at least.
With a shrug, he took up a bundle of the flowers and the tray containing the simple breakfast and tea he'd prepared and moved back up the stairs towards the room he shared with Hakkai. He set the two down - the tray on the bedside table, the flowers beside Hakkai in the bed (where Kurama would normally be lying) - and went to pull the curtains of the window, letting in the soft morning light.
Turning, he leaned against the wall beside the window and waited for Hakkai to awake. While he waited, he considered how quickly the year had passed. It was odd to think that he had been away from home so long, and never realized it. Was it that he had become accustomed to life here, or that he had found so many to fill the voids? Perhaps it was some mixture of many things, but it seemed the desire to return was weaker than ever.
