WHO: Yozak (and maybe others)
WHAT: Yozak's Hiatus Log / Why he's not reading the journals
WHERE: Castle training during the day; Maruma household in the evening
WHEN: Day 326+ [[Monday Feb 16 2008+]]
It was all too easy for Yozak to pretend like nothing had changed - like nothing was going on with Gwendal and nothing was going on between Yuuri and Conrad. For some reason he just... didn't want to touch that, mentally. Like if he pursued that train of thought then all of a sudden a lot of other things would come crashing down and change.
So indulging in the familiar made him happy. Training like good ol' soldiers was familiar, and it looked like there wasn't a war in sight, so it was safe to boot. Unlike his compaions, Yozak had not made any new friends in Rivelata - he'd been too busy working. And even now he was working - to try to get a real good feel for the castle complex, should he ever find a need to sneak in, and that was entirely possible in Yozak's line of work.
Thus, it was also all too easy for Yozak to leave his journal near his bed every single day and not think for even a second about opening it up - the people he cared about lived in the same house after all. The half-demon hadn't been feeling very charitable lately anyway.
Every day he left to exercise, train, and detail out (visually) the places that new recruits could go, then return home in the evening to bathe and sleep and greet his companions, exchanging a few niceties here and there. But as soon as anyone brought up 'love' or 'Valentine's Day' or anything of the sort, his hearing was suddenly very bad or he was extremely exhausted or remembered something extremely interesting from the topic of conversation 10 minutes ago and just had to interject.
That's just how he had to act to cover up the insecurities; it was one of the things he did best, being a soldier and a spy for so much of his life. However, it might have raised more than a few eyebrows when he went so long without wearing even one dress.
