WHO: Takeshi Yamamoto {
obliviousfamily} & Hayato Gokudera {
10thcomplex}.
WHAT: Who said sleeping soundly in Rivelata was an easy feat.
WHERE: The Tenth's Mansion; Gokudera's bedroom - second floor
WHEN: Somewhere past midnight, from Day 312 to Day 313
It wasn’t especially dark tonight. In stark comparison to the windowless secret base in which he had spent a score of restless nights before being thrown into Rivelata, the illuminating light of a full moon casting the room full of shadows was foreign. Calming, comforting and reassuring, but only in one way. In one way it only amplified the fact that Gokudera was somewhere else and not by the Tenth’s side, not where he was supposed to be … and hence the dreams continued.
Dreams that had haunted him ever since he had arrived in the Future, dreams that had compelled him to throw a night’s sleep into the winds and simply make use of time otherwise wasted to tossing and turning in bed, unable to find rest. It would have been in vain to believe that these nightly terrors would leave him alone here … on the contrary, if anything, they had only gotten worse.
Jolting up from bed, the Guardian of Storm was conscious enough to hear himself let out a strangled whimper into the darkness as he was thrown out of yet another nightmare - loud enough to make him flinch and tense up, suddenly worried that he had awoken someone. This concern was however quickly diminished as Gokudera cast a nervous eye around his room and - recognizing it with a sudden pang of disappointment - remembered just where he was.
Letting himself fall back onto his by now damp pillows, the teenager shuddered, trying to stifle the sobbing that had accompanied him out of his dream. Always the same, miserable image, the Tenth shot down, looking up at him in disappointment, bleeding, dying … He choked, warm tears rolling down his face and into his hair. At least in the base he had been able get out of bed and look up to the top bunk; see his boss sleeping soundly and perhaps be guided back into a more peaceful sleep with that reassurance. Here he was alone. Alone and worried; worried what had become of the Tenth, whether or not he and Yamamoto (and the rest of them) would ever be able to return, what the hell was going on around them …
He wanted to go home.
