WHAT: Christmas Dinner
WHERE: The Doctor's house
WHEN: Christmas Day!
The Doctor was fidgeting about the house, making sure the holly and the ivy were in place, the tinsel and homemade Christmas lights weren't meeting and causing fires, the tree was still upright, the dinner was cooking, the kids were present, the presents were present - that everything was in place for Christmas dinner. It was his first time celebrating with a family in a way that didn't involve explosions and alien invasions and run-ins with alternate versions of himself, and the Doctor was... excited.
He was anxious too, of course, what with the talk of matchmaking and devious plotting going on between Matsuri and Jenny about the Professor, but he put that out of his mind and focused instead on his preparations. Knowing the girls, they'd be distracted easily enough, and the Doctor was sure that by the end of the night they would completely forget about their mistletoe conversations. At least he hoped so.
But just in case, he went around the house a few times as he decorated and prepared, making sure to check the door frames and ceilings and windowsils for that familiar sprig of green in red ribbon - just in case he needed to remove it before the guests arrived.
